mikmik,
Magkaiba kasi price ng front and rear shocks. Bale parang lumabas na Php4,000 (I forgot the 'butal') ang total.
Less than 2 hours natapos ko yung likod using basic hand tools. Yung harap hindi ko pa pinalitan kasi ok pa naman pero expect to clock similar times (based dun sa pagpapalit ko ng shocks sa Besta which uses the same shock design as the Pajero). Sa likod you don't even need to jack the vehicle or take off the tires.
Php800 to trim bumpstops? Holdap ba iyan?
Afterwards, it rode just like a standard GEN II on gas shocks. Kahit naman sa U.S., mga two years lang ata lumabas ang remote shocks. Na-pull out din due to cost cutting and some reliability issues so bihira ang Field Master body dun na naka-remote shocks.
Yung 86 year old na lola na gumagamit ng Field Master (she's the boss, walang kokontra hehehe) ngayon wala naman reklamo when we switched over to standard shocks. Wala naman sinasabi sa akin na dapat nag-Bilstein ako or Old Man Emu. hehehe.Last edited by OTEP; September 10th, 2006 at 12:36 AM.

if DIY ka on changing your rear shocks sa pajero, there are some units that you cannot remove the lower bolt that holds the shocks. the bolt will not slide out, it will hit the rear lower trailing arm. may secret dyan.
as for the KYB monomax its price is nearly 5k+ also. on the gas adjust, no comment na lang.

Yung Monro-matic sa Vitara nakakabit. Hehehe. Large bore nitrogen shock siya so expected na matigas. I don't know how it will settle in the long run. Gamit namin na shocks for fleet use is usually KYB (super series or gas-a-just). Ok naman ang offer ni Iceman (with delivery pa to Filmar's shop) kaya kumuha na ko.
First impression is matigas siya. Balik ang firm ride ng Vitara. Dati kasi parang pogo-stick yung likod dahil wala na talagang tigas yung shocks. When I took the old shocks out, nahulog na lang. Ayaw na mag-self extend. Trade off lang siguro is mas well controlled na ang body motions ng sasakyan with these newer shocks. Of course, you will not mistake the Vitara for a Pajero. hehehe.
Iceman has longer ones at the same price pero hindi siya sure kung kakabit sa Pajero. I will ask for the exact length. Pero yung bolt pattern is the same as the GEN II.Last edited by OTEP; September 11th, 2006 at 09:54 AM.

For me its bang for the buck. But if you have more bucks, siyempre there are bigger bangs out there. As I've said previously, hindi na worth it ang uber expensive suspension (or vehicle parts in general) for my intended application kaya I try to strike a balance between cost and benefit.
