October 18th, 2002 12:02 PM #31> kung papiliin ka ng 1998 LC80 at new-model Patrol 3.0 alin kaya pipiliin mo?
LC80 for me. kahit sa japan, maraming tao na nag trade-in ng mga Trooper at Pajero for LC70 or LC80 so they can go cross-country.

pajerokid,

October 19th, 2002 01:46 PM #36yup! lc70 nga ang mas hardcore, pero yung lc80 kasi parang good balance between usability and off-road ability.
kaya naman siguro in-production pa rin ang lc70, alongside the smaller lc90 and the luxurious lc100

Yung LC70 very usable din naman. Hindi nga lang ganoon kaporma like the LC80. Pero mas madali siya gamitin sa traffic because it's basically the same size as my Pajero.
Saka crash-tested ko na ang LC70 series. It passed with flying colors. No airbags, no crumple zones, no nothing. Kahit yata steering column nun hindi impact absorbing, eh. Pero hayop sa tigas ang frame.

otep,
haha i-submit mo na sa NHTSA at IIHS yung crash-test results and pics mo
yup, mukhang mahirap nga sa LC80 and patrol (new and old) yung width: 76 and 78 inches! yikes! hirap sumingit singit yan, lalo na sa mga side streets na sandamukal yung naka parada sa tabi :?

The LC70 has this allure about it.... its quite charming  This from a guy who still appreciates the FJ40 :lol::lol:
Methinks the Battle of Carthage scene in Russel Crowe's Gladiator (yr. 2000) is a homage to that...
