i give up searching for an accord m/t... wala talaga akong mahanap! gusto ng dad ko bagong cr-v nalang, pang-baha daw

(masyadong brusko yung patrol safari e)

    questions,

    1) madali bang makahanap ng 2000 Pajero 4x4 m/t? no particular color, basta late-model, 4x4, at m/t

    5) napansin ko sa Nissan north edsa website na binebenta pa nila yung patrol safari? available pa ba, and how much is it being sold?

    thanks!

from what I've sorta learned and read from the forums, ang advice ko is to get a pajero nalang... mas lalo na if you plan to use it offroad... :D

    mbt.

    Im gonna be biased....very biased.

first off..... the body. you are correct. A second hand Pajero WILL oulast a brand new crv. That is because the paj has a Ladder Frame Chassis. By nature, matibay po ang construction na ito. Ever wondered why 20 year old jeepneys still work? Thats because of this ladder frame. People who read car&driver a lot will complain that this is primitive. But consider this, theyre not driving on our roads! The CRV has a monocoque chassis ... just like the civic and the accord.... not even a SUBFRAME... in short its a friggin CAR!

Second...the engine. True, the CRV has the iVTEC engine which is good for 160hp. But if youre an SUV guy, Horsepower does not count as much as TORQUE does. Im not sure of the figures but a 2.8Liter Turbodiesel will simply blow away ang 1.6Liter gasoline engine, vtec or not. And if you really want to swim sa baha, a diesel engine is better... just ask anyone around. The 4M40 is a capable engine. True, it wont win any drag races, but again, its low end torque which counts.

The steering in the pajero isnt comparable to any sedan in terms of response. Remember, the Pajero is a truck. It takes some getting used to... and if you think of it, theres nothing really to complain about.

The price you stated is smack on target.

Ang forte ng paj ay styling IMHO. Bad side is that the engine is weak when compared to other SUVs such as the trooper.

problema lang sa ladder-frame construction ay more prone to rattles ang sasakyan...

but the cr-v feels fragile and incapable... parang konting baha lang will make you worry if she's still okay... unlike kung patrol o paj o LC na you wouldn't think twice about its capability and toughness. and besides, ayaw ko talaga yung design kn cr-v e...

napakacheap ng dating ng interior, and since walang 4wd, it's effectively a car. e kung car lang, mas gusto ko ng accord hehe:roll: compromises, compromises...

the ladder frame chassis platform is pretty sturdy. as regards to rattles and squeaks, eh pwedeng remedyohan yan. lahat ng squeaks and rattles ng pajero ko eh pinahanap ko and ginawan ng paraan. now, no more squeaks and rattles.

    the usual suspects:
    1) suspension front and rear bushings, and suspension parts
    2) body mount bushings
    3) tighten all under body bolts
    4) interior- check all movable parts of all seats especially the third row, tighten all screws in the dash board, spray WD40 in all squeaking parts under the dashboard especially the springs in the accelerator, breaks, and clutch
    5) to really improve the comfort of your ride, you can change your shocks/dampers to after-market ones like rancho and change your rear coil springs to old man emus.

    GO FOR THE PAJ!!!

Nakakapagod i-drive.

Another advantage: much of the off-road shock gets filtered out before reaching the steering wheel.
