Depends on what's wrong with the car and what's your budget.
The most important part is the body. If there's lots of rust and you have the money for a strip, strip it and rebuild the body.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

The body is first. If there are rust problems, strip to metal, repair, repaint properly.
The car interior can wait until the body is done. But if the interior is also in bad condition, you can have those parts sourced for replacements or sent to a car upholstery shop to give it a brand new look and feel.

July 30th, 2010 05:38 PM #4Hmm... medjo mabusisi restoring an old school car sir. Ano pong car?
To give you an idea, unahin nyo po yung mechanical parts, that goes the same with the engine, you may need to have it overhauled (if medjo di na ganun kaayos andar) if you really want to keep it at 'stock' during its glory days.
Then body works and paint. Like what sir niky said. Those parts wherein 'kinain' na ng rust (sobra na laki ng damage) may require a job for your suking 'latero' to fabricate metal sheets and have it welded also para ika nga eh 'na-patched' yung hole. If minor or tolerable naman, liha at masilya katapat para pumantay sa contour ng original body ng car.
strip to metal or scrape to metal (whatever you may call it), advisable yan kung malaki na damage sa body dahil sa presence ng rust in various areas around the car. Just make sure na hindi 'balbon' yung paint job, especially sa engine bay.
Interiors like your seats, you may have it repaired sa suking upholstery shop within your area or you may want to canvass and shop around surplus car seats. If your car's carpet needs to be replaced, palagyan mo narin ng 'foam' which serves like a sound dampening and para pag apak sa floor, ndi naman agad feel mo na 'lata' agad
hope this helps sir

maganda kung sabay sabay
pagdala sa paintshop, strip the interior and remove the engine
begin bodywork and painting. have an interior guy measure out the new sidings and fabric or leather if thats your thing. pagawan na din ng carpets.
begin engine rebuild. send engine to rebuilder.
begin underchassis work. mas madali ito ngayon gawin kasi hubad na yung kotse. yung iba nga inaangat talaga yung body (or tub), para tignan yung chassis. dito mo pagawa yung shocks, etc etc
paint should be done by now
the engine and interior will arrive at approx the same time, salpak
derecho sa banawe for some soundz
bili bago goma or magz

me mairerecommend po ba kayong places for 1. engine mechanic that specializes sa old school car, 2. good shop for strip to metal paint at budget meal costs, and 3. good auto interior shop na budget meal din ang singil.
