Mitsubishi Motors Philippines has introduced in the market a new variant of its Strada pick up model - the new Strada GLX double cab 4x4 pick up with manual transmission.
One of its selling advantages is it affordable, priced in the same range as the high end 4x2 double cab pick ups in the market. This model is for customers who want a pick up with a higher stance or ground clearance and 4x4 function less the frills.
Froy Dytianquin, Mitsubishi Motors Philippines AVP for Marketing Services said "The Strada GLX offers the best value for money because you get a 4x4 pick up for just Php 900,000. At this pricing level, the Strada GLX is currently the lowest priced 4x4 pick up in the market today."
He added that "although the Strada GLX
is a basic 4x4 pick up, it is rugged enough to take the toughest road. It is guaranteed to have the same level of performance as our top of the line Mitsubishi Strada model".
The Strada GLX is also equipped with the same 4D56 2.5 intercooler turbo diesel as Mitsubishi's high end Strada model. This engine produces a maximum output of 100 ps * 4,000 rpm and 24.5 kg-m * 2,000 rpm of torque.
This engine provides powerful response and improved acceleration and at the same time very fuel efficient.
Accordingly, this engine also meets Step-2 emission level. The Easy Select 4WD system of the Strada GLX, which is also the same 4WD system of the Montero Sport, makes it easy and fun to drive as it provides convenient and trouble-free shifting between 2WD and 4WD even at speeds of 100 kph.
It also incorporates the same suspension as the top of the line Strada variant, which is front independent double wishbone with torsion and stabilizer bars and rear rigid elliptic leaf spring suspension which are tuned to provide a comfortable ride, at the same time handle most of the rough road conditions.
The exterior features multi reflector headlamps, hood scoop for the intercooler, fin-type grille design, front impact absorbing polypropylene bumper chrome side view mirrors, white fender markers and black side stepboards facilitate easy getting in and out of the vehicle. It is also equipped with 15-inch styled steel wheels fitted on 205/80R16 tires to complement its ruggedness.
The interior hosts a number of convenient amenities like anti-trapping power windows (with auto up/down for the driver's side), power door locks, and power side view mirrors, while dual cupholders can be found on the instrument panel. Seats are ergonomically designed and its see-through headrests and 4-spoke steering wheel give it a sportier look. 3-point ELR seatbelts for the front and rear passengers plus 2-point lapbelt for the rear center passenger are standard safety items.
The car also features a double walled rear pick up bed for better durability. Rear inner body hooks and the standard rear body guard frame servers as fastening points for cargos. Meanwhile, the one touch handle makes it easier the rear gate easy to open. The high mount stop lamp was also integrated on the rear gate to extra warn ensuing vehicles when braking.
Airconditioning by Mit-Air and Mitsubishi Motors Audio Design FM/AM stereo with in-dash CD/MP3 player comes as standard. Meanwhile, the Mitsubishi Motors Auto Security (MMAS) Keyless entry with Alarm comes as dealer option.
The new model is available at all Mitsubishi dealerships nationwide with the introductory price of P900,000.
