AFAIK, whatever we had with the current edition of the Strada will a carry-over... but i could be wrong... still waiting for further updates...
of course, Thailand being the country of origin gets to benefit from their own tinkering of the engine... Here is hoping they will share it with their fellow ASEAN brothers, isn't it?

IMO I think now is the time for an upgrade in the engine meaning OEM ECU upgrade....considering the competition on torque ratings are getting tighter and we all know that the 4d56 and the 4m41 still has a very high potential on producing higher torque output
with regards to the engine tinkering
I think sharing the techs and upgrades on engine tinkering is doable well of course if the price is rightBut I think there is just one thing that may prohibit them to do so.... The Quality of fuel here in our soil is a Mile far lower than the ones that they use over at TH. which is really a big factor on engine dev't as we all know.

maybe because HYUNDAI KIA GROUP will reserved the honor of having the R2 diesel installed first on the sta. fe and then after the new sta.fe is launched thats the time they will put the monster R2 to the sorento.Let's not mind too much the Euro 5 issue that the R2 is not compatible with our diesel fuel, Yes I know that our diesel cannot comply with that kind of standard but Im pretty sure that only Little adjustments and modifications is needed to the R2 so that it can suck our local fuel.
