I just got my 2K9 Strada GLX a week ago from Citimotors Las Pinas.

I wanted to have a turbo timer installed but unfortunately I was told by my SA that this will void the warranty of the unit if I had one installed outside the casa. I didn't bother to ask anymore which area of the warranty will be voided if ever I had it installed by a shop.

I even thought of buying a turbo timer from Citimotors even if I know this will mean paying more just to avoid such technicality. Unfortunately(?) they did not have any turbo timer available during that time.

I know the people in this forum are well informed of such information and I would like to get your opinion on this point. Just in case, who in Citimotors Las Pinas should I really talk to so I can confirm if the information of my SA is correct or not.

    Thanks very much.

With Citimotors Las Pinas they were willing to install the turbo timer pero walang available. So parang conflict talaga ang policies ng mga dealers when it comes to the warranty.

I'm just worried that they will void the warranty if they find out that I had a turbo timer installed outside the casa.

    Thanks again!
    Hi Sir,

Congrats sa new ride ninyo. Same dealer pala tayo with 2 other club members. Anyhow, to answer your question, TT will void your electrical warranty, and not engine. No component will be installed in the engine and only the ignition wires of your ride. Next, like all of us, once you change your horns to bigger ones and not that small scooter type horn installed in our ride, that also voids our electrical warranty.

Casa has double standards, if bought and installed sa kanila, its under warranty, but if it was bought and installed sa iba, it voids the warranty..weird diba. anyhow, ganun talaga dito.

Hope maka join ka sa club.

Thank you for your reply Sir av8or5.

Do you think it's a big deal if the electrical warranty of the car is voided? I know that the TT is an important device but is it that essential to have the warranty voided intentionally? Did anyone from this forum encounter any electrical defects which were eventually covered by the warranty? I just want to know if voiding the warranty outweighs all possible problems that may arise and accept the fact that the electrical portion of the car is no longer under warranty.

Sorry for such question but I just would like to see both sides of the coin before I decide whether to have the TT installed or just wait for the 3 year warranty to expire.

You're right. The horn sounds really bad. The car doesn't earn much respect. hehehe. That's another point that bugs me. I can't imagine living with this horn for the next 3 years.

Thanks for the invite sir. There's so much to learn about the strada and being with this group will surely help a lot. I hope to attend one of your meets in the future.

    Thanks very much.

in my case, ok lang ma-void ang electricals since i wont install accessories to overload the wirings of my ride. kung turbo timer lang, horn and other light loads, i dont think that would burn the wirings. pero if you plan to install numerous lights, boom-boom sounds and lcd displays, better kung sa casa mo pa-install para covered pa rin ng warranty.

here is one tip, some dealers do not void the electricals if you inform them beforehand that you plan to install a bigger horn and a TT. they will just say that they will not replace the item you bought outside if it happens to malfunction (for obvious reasons). pero such information is limited lang sa mga bonafide members ng club, hehehe, hope you understand.

do join us sa activities ng club... the baguio fun run/light off road is just around the corner... and the club members usually have a mini EB every fridays (sarap mag-beer!)

    ^ My take on this...
There are things which are important or required...and then there are things which are 'nice to have' or 'gold-plating'.

IMHO, the TT is categorized as 'nice-to-have'. If it was that important or essential, the manufacturer will install it.

Of course TT can be seen factory installed on Higher model vehicles..but then...that is the difference...they are 'higher' model. More power...more luxurious...(luxury = nice to have).

Thanks a lot to Sirs alainroyce, ThePatriarch, and DonT for your feedback.

I will check with Citimotors LP once again and if the price difference of the TT will not be that significant, I will just have it installed there. That is kung magkaroon sila ng stock.

Pati narin yung horn baka dun ko nalang kunin. Gayahin ko nalang ginawa ni Sir alainroyce.

Iwas nalang sa sakit ng ulo if ever.

    Thanks again for your replies.

if you guys really want a turbo timer installed and not get your warranties voided, going to winterpine in araneta ave may be an option since they are the authorize and exclusive distributors for most mitsubishi accessories(alarms, AV units, turbo timers, etc.)

Just one question, I just noticed that the plastic bed liner of the tailgate is not even. What I mean is that the left portion of the bed liner did not reach the edge of the tailgate while the right side portion of the bed liner reached the edge of the tailgate.

The plastic bed liner of the strada should be the same for all since galing lahat ito sa casa. Ganito rin ba ang bed liners nyo? If not, dapat ko ba papalitan ito for a new one?

    Thanks!
