February 6th, 2008 09:41 PM #3306Thanks mga BOSB! Its good to have a flock to belong to, i wanna join the EB kya lng if I join bka maglaway lang ako at masira ang ulo ko sa inggit sa inyong mga shiny rigs. I knew that the strada bunch are KISSable (Knights in the Shining Strada). Ok ba ang acronym ko mga kaberks? So in order to prevent my obsessive drooling over your strada guys, di muna ako join ng activities nyo, sabi nga out of sight, out of mind. Thanks guys, im flattered that you welcome me. Long live the KISS!!!!

February 6th, 2008 10:00 PM #3307If I were you bro, I'd settled for the Strada, why? Because the resale value is quitehigh, the rig can go virtually anywhere, come hell or high water and its a diesel, the cost of fuel and maintenance is low compared to subaru. Then its comfortable too di nga lang at par sa subaru. Well, its your decision really but if you want a dependable and sporty ride in the Philippine settings, strada na bro.

*seeraulo... i think i better post my reply at the strada vs ranger at this thread just for you... but regardless, the BOSBs, the KISSers will always be there for you, bro.
===================================
hi there, im not here to be ang inyong konsensya like in the safeguard ads... but i want to share the fun i had when i had the chance to have the Mitsubishi Strada for a day...
i fell in love with it as far as the appearance is concerned. when pickups used to be so boxy, im glad that strada crosses genres of sedan owners eventually getting one for their own! the style is there- without compromising utility and function. the body is a perfect balance between the interior cabin and the cargo bed. yes, the bed may not be biggest since it actually shrank, but the passenger cabin- the part of the truck that matters the most since i carry more people with their luggage is a big factor. its like saying "i am willing to give up a few inches of the pickup bed for a roomier cabin." in the end, it will matter with everyone smiling inside the cabin with the bags at the back with a little more room to spare (since my test unit had a hard bed cover). so in my opinion, getting a strada is 2 birds with 1 stone!
power and torque from a 2.5 liter diesel engine is by far, the strongest that i have felt. the surge of torque to go up the mountains of baguio can be done quickly. i am very much aware that the engine performance of the competition is at par with the rest, but i believe that this is one truck that i can use to maximize the payload to the hilt (just like what i did with the a 1994 Strada)! the unit that i had was the 2.5 GLS 4x4 A/T- and what more when you will actually get the 2.5 GLX 4x2- less the 4x4 component means lesser weight, therefore, quicker acceleration! fuel consumption is excellent as well. the discrepancies with its rivals is very negligible. but the bottomline is, the way how you drive matters the most. looking at the brochures, the strada GLX may not have ABS+EBD- its not like you are going to die without it, but brake force is linear and accurate! above all, everything in the truck is just about- complete!
at the price that is lower than the ranger, you can alot for accessories that you have in mind.
what i also liked is that mitsubishi retailers are just about everywhere for you. the 4D56 engine may have the current common rail injection, but other components are what mechanics have memorized! and not only that, the strada club of the philippines is a group of owners that aims to help co-owners with questions, complaints and discover things they never knew existed! i came across with these guys since november and the overall impression i am getting from them is outstanding despite minor issues (see the strada thread and leave your mark by posting a quick hello), the truck makes a difference from their previous cars.
join us? you are most welcome...
and i do hope that this is enough to convince you to get the strada GLX. thank you for your time.

dude, i know that you are also eyeing on the impreza. the strada is also a practical choice- why settle for something artificial (AWD) when you can get the real thing (easy select 4x4)?! at saan ka lulugar kapag flashfloods sa manila?
just thinking aloud... again

*INVINZOR927, hahaha! btw, welcome to the forums, bro. it made me recall the terms i use KISS during my english classes and lectures and mentoring new-hires at the office:
Keep It Short and Simple -or-
Keep It Short, Stupid! - when i'm pissed off
BOSBs, continue thinking of acronyms... baka maka coffee table book tayo to beat the eraption! hahaha -joke!!!

Madali lang yan bro.....flashback ka lang 2 years ago. Did you encounter a situation or driving condition that you wished you had a pick-up rather than a car? Your answer to that question would definitely dictate what you will drive 2-3 years from now.
If you just need something to bring you to the office everyday and/or out-of town trips in nearby provinces on cemented roads with no heavy cargo, then you really dont need a pick-up. I suggest you get the Impreza. Its smaller, lighter, quicker, easier and fun to drive, it runs on gas (if FC is not an issue to you), and its gwapo. ANd for the cheap price of a Strada, you get a Rally bred Subaru Impreza.
Good to know nito, maka order nga. Paubos na yung windshield washer fluids sa mga units ko.
