the older strada 2.5 GLS has the ABS EBD and AT tranny (2007 below)
while the later 2.5 GLS has no ABS EBD and MT tranny nalang (kagaya samin) kaya nung time na yun, bumaba price ng GLS at sakto naman lumabas ang GLS Sports
Thank you for your swift reply mikko. My Tagalog is nill and Bisaya limited but I think I understand what you are saying.
But the GLS sport is only available in 3.2.
IMO a good ABS system is of far more value than a digital readout gadget in the centre console. I have until December to decide, so maybe MMPC will have the 2010 facelifted model with a revised spec.

the GLS 2.5 has no ABS but they put the LSPV instead (am not sure if it's Load Sensing Proportioning Valve) and i guess it has the same function as the ABS-EBD...

I've tried it for several times... the brakes doesn't lock nor the tyres doesn't slip...

Sir Mikko_018 is correct for 10 points!

This was the Strada's line-up back in 2006 to Mid 2007:
    2.5 GLX 4x4 M/T
    2.5 GLS 4x4 M/T
    2.5 GLS 4x4 A/T

And this is the line-up from Mid 2007 to date- this is where:
    1. the 2.5 GLX had a dagdag-bawas session with the MMPC product planners (deletion of the 4x4 in exchange for interior/exterior aesthetics)
    2. the 2.5 GLS lost its Automatic Tranny counterpart and ABS+EBD combo to give way to the 3.2 GLS Sport:
    2.5 GL 4x2 M/T
    2.5 GLX 4x2 M/T
    2.5 GLS 4x4 M/T
    3.2 GLS Sport 4x4 M/T
    3.2 GLS Sport 4x4 A/T

I clearly remember that the expanded line-up of the Strada was introduced during the 1st Philippine International Show, August 2007- and I was there during its unveiling as well as the 2006 launch...

As to why MMPC deleted the ABS+EBD has been deleted from the GLS remains a mystery to this day. It would be a great feature added to the GLS and even with the GLX. From what i could recall, the price of the GLS dropped by almost 120k when they removed this feature- from about 1,220,000 (M/T) to about 1,100,000 (M/T) and it has been at this price range for quite some time now- miraculously!

    ayan na si ian.... hehehe

    1,100,000 for GLS M/T minus 20,000 promo =1,090,000

Yes Mikko, it has load sensing proportional valves; but this is by no means a 4 channel ABS replacement. It basically senses the weight on the back and works out a best proportion of brakes % between front to rear sets.

got it... is it when the cargo bed has no load and when you step on the brake, brakes will only applied on the front wheels?

Wouldn't imagine no braking Mikko; but less force to the rears.
