yup... because the GLS Sport and GLS variants have adopted the console box that is very similar to the Montero Sport. Of course, cars of the same platform can share some components.

ummm higher rpm doesn't really equate to a stronger engine or a faster ride... it could actually mean that there is something wrong with the throttle choke or lock or the pump or the computer.. a 1000 reading is pretty high...i think the only diesels that i have that idle that high or higher are my heavy equipment.
definitely more fuel consumption. higher rpm means your engine is working at a higher rate, cranking your shafts more and spinning the fly wheel faster.... but all for nothing... better have the vehicle checked if idle rpm is that high
