sir jackson, minsan sama ka sa mga funrun ng TSCP so you could verify kung normal yung smoke na nakita mo... and better kung mahiram mo ulit yung strada ng sister mo, so we could see kung maitim nga yung usok na lumalabas. normal lang kasi yung puff of smoke (puff lang ha, hindi yung continous stream) pero baka sa ibang tao hindi normal yun... highly subjective, ika nga...

since wala pics, we could only surmise kung ano ang cause and kung cause of alarm na ba dapat sa sister mo yung smoke.

anyway, thanks for posting... we welcome these kind of posts so that we could be aware sa possible na problems ng strada... and we could prepare for the possible remedy/solution.

lastly, mura nga pala ang diesel sa subic since may certain tax exemptions ang mga businesses doon... whenever you are in the area, pa-full tank nyo na!

Dati ko pa nga gusto sumali sa TSCP, fan talaga ako ng Strada, problem is hirap hiramin sa Sis ko nung truck, gustong gusto din nya, tsaka medyo tight din ang sched kaya di ako makadrop by sa mga regular eb's. Anyway, Montero ang ride ko so same bloodline naman, tuwang tuwa lang ako sa strada kasi ang gaan kaya feeling mo mas malakas siya humatak kahit same engine. I guess 200kgs difference is really big iba kasi humatak strada compare to my monty.

Yup mura talaga gas at diesel sa Subic, kaya yung Petron doon laging pila. Difference of almost 3 pesos compare here sa Manila.

I will try to rev the engine of my sis' strada, then kung maitim padin I'll take a pic then post it here for update tsaka I personally did not see the smoke so might as well verify it kung malala talaga. Thanks!

Thanks sa mga inputs.

1.) I will try to confirm with my service advisor if they used the correct viscosity in my Sister's truck.

2.) Katakot naman bago pa naman tapos kung SCV nga talaga ang problem. Basically one gasoline station lang talaga ang suki namin. Bago naman sya at di binabaha at lahat ng auto namin doon nagpapafill for the past how many years. May factor ba kung medyo nasagad yung fuel tank, yung tipong umiilaw na tapos di agad nagpa-gas? We usually don't do that, usually pag abot ng 1/4 fill agad pero naalala ko there was one time na nasagad talaga, could it be the culprit?

3.) Yup recently lang kami nagpaservice for the 5000kms PMS. Will try to bring the unit this weekend sa casa for check up.

Siguro what I will do later is see for myself kung puff lang or continous talaga yung black smoke. Kasi yung mga ka-convoy ko grabeng grabe pero I personally did not see the extent of the smoke plus wala din ako napansin from the mirrors.

Or dirty diesel. I remember before when I was using Caltex (w/o Techron), I also noticed na bumubuga ng black smoke kapag hinataw ko after a long time of smooth running. Para bang naiipon sa exhaust (muffler ba tawag dun). Pero pag inulit ko ng hataw, wala na black smoke. But when I went back to Petron, di ko na napapansin to. O baka hataw lang ako ng hataw kaya nalilinis palagi. Di ko pa na-try yung Caltex w/ Techron. Sana effective.

Guys, I was traversing SLEX yesterday from Southwoods to Alabang at a constant speed of 80kph and record a 16.2km/l in my monitor! All stock GLS. Makes me wonder if I should upgrade my tires to 265/65/17 AT tires. Or even with a 265/65/17 HT tires.

Puedeng puede. My GLS Sport on 275/70R16 ATs can do 15km/liter at 80kph.

Thanks sir Boz. Really liked an AT for my ride. First, it doesn't easily or never get flat if you accidentaly run over a nail or screw. Second, doesn't wear easily. Maybe you'll have a 100k odo reading before changing a new one. Third, for an unexpected need of AT tire on an unexpected rough road along an out of town trip. And much more... But the only downside I had on my previous Strada with AT tire, is the vibration and noise. Especially when running over those highway bumps (the white stripes along some part of SLEX).

hi mga sir! Yung tumutulo po pala sa STR is yung gear oil, may leak po sa yung dalawang oil seal ko. already have a sched kasi 3 days daw sa casa yung STR ko. they claimed it sa warranty po.


the SA was joking kung ano daw ba gusto kong ipalit niya muna na kotse kanina kasi kasama ko si gf, baka daw may date ako. Montero na automatic daw ba o Pajero na automatic, oo naman agad ako kala ko serioso siya, dahil kung serioso siya iiwan ko na agad si STR doon for PMS and repairs. haha :bwahaha:

posible din yun sir....I remember back then when we still have another brand of pickup din... it only has 16k kms on it back then...nung ipapatest namin sa emission for registration yata or napag tripan lang hehe can't remeber exactly ...sobra ang usok nya...kasi inde nga daw nabibirit....so ang ginawa nung nag eemission test binomba ng binomba yung pedal up to 3.5k RPM...tapos katakot takot na usok ang lumabas for about 2 to 3 minutes of revving....then after nun ok na ulit pumasa na sa emission....then nung dinala namin sa casa for a check up....ang sabi samin nung SA naiipon nga daw kasi yung carbon dun somewhere in the muffler kaya kapag binibirit at tumataas ang pressure sa muffs saka lang nailalabas yung carbon na yun through smoke.....
