Just in case mitsu is thinking of offering a gas engine model, (and also in case they're reading this thread right now) Please put in the 3.0 Mivec v6! *hint* *hint*

Wag yung 2.4. bigat ng monty para dun.
Its possible to install the 3.8L Mivec from the Pajero and that would definitely bolt straight on to our chassis. Any engines from the current Outlander has different mountings (would need an awful lot of modification on the engine and tranny supports just to mount, not to mention the compatibility of the axles) so using these engines isnt really feasible.

The 4M41 is actually more expensive cost wise to Mitsubishi than the 3.8L Mivec (technically, its rather easy for them to add a gas option if they wanted to). I believe they decided to remove that option from the consumers for practicality reasons. MMPH might have forecasted that the bulk of MS buyers would opt for the crdi variants.

Toyota added the Vvt-i to the Fortuner because they knew the D4D engines will have lots of problems....

gud pm po, i just want to ask if there's anyone who has a copy of workers manual for our monty's? so that at very least we know the anatomy of our beloved cars inside and out in case of "surgical" repairs in the future 'coz of wear and tear. Also for tweaking/DIY stuffs like. TIA. mahilig ako kc magbutingting ng sasakyan. =)

Finally! Got my 20" Lenso RT7 rims already!

Guys help lang, they said mas magandang tingnan yung 285/50/20, kaso i'm worried baka mag-donut siya sa mismong rims, 20x9 kasi yung specs nung RT7. 265/50/20 naman, sakto pero mukang bitin sa monty..

And also, what tires do you prefer, Nitto NT420S or Toyo Proxes S/T?

    Thanks.

    Hi guys.

I have been reading this thread for a couple of weeks and I must say I am impressed with the help and advice everyone is willing to share.

I am about to get my white 2010 Monty GLS 4x2 this weekend. Some upgrades from the 09 model, notably the LCD, the stock radio with USB and Bluetooth (vs the JVC unit), integrated alarm-key fob unit, rear apron(?), and some other minor stuff.

Just some questions, if I may:

    1. I was quoted around 16k for the painted rear spoiler, and 19k for both front and rear chins...from casa, painted and installed. Good deal or not?

    2. I already have been buying ICE equipment early this year for my next car purchase. So far I have a Hifonics 6.5 separates set that I will use up front and a Hifonics 6.5 2-ways for the rear. This will be powered by a Blaupunkt thinline series amp. For subs I got a Kenwood self amplified thin series twin subs box that I can put under the seats.

I am looking at getting a dvd player. Just a 1-din and for video a pair of headrests. Any advice on make and model. I know CX3 sells a pair of Kenwood models that are actually affordable (8-9k). If I skip the head unit upgrade, is the stock unit (I think the same one from the highend model) good enough if I pair with the speaker upgrades?

    3. As for parking, I was thinking of putting a camera. Any experience from you guys? Is the audible sensor good enough? If ever my plan would have a rear view mirror with the small LCD feature.

Finally, would all these void our warranty?

    Thanks in advance!
