certainly true sir!! =) I dont have any plans of modding my SE nor my Strada. Im pretty satisfied with their performance as they perform brilliantly fulfilling the purpose of why I actually bought them.. Yun lng I find the 4m41 a bit rough and thirsty. But nevertheless having them stock is enough for normal use.
Sir im looking at tapping just the ecu to make things simpler. I havent rily get to try tuning a brain of a crdi engine but I guess piggybacking the ecu would suffice. I didnt know we could seperately install a piggyback comp on the common rail? Thanks for that sir!! haha
About the intercooler, thats the reason why I suggested not to use too large intercoolers for our application cause its not appropriate considering how much boost we are only getting from the stock turbo. It would definitely not match kung masyado malaki and will just make things harder to tune. The stock intercooler of a JDM Galant 8G Twin Turbo or any Evolution would do. I think anything bigger than that would more or less lead to pressure drop inside the cooling tank.
About the exhaust system, my deepest apologies sir Im not sure if I got your question right? But I guess you are asking me what would be the material for the pipings? If that so then it would be stainless steel pipes that are already mandrel bent from their manufacturers. Some shops in the metro get these from their respective suppliers and just cut/grind (tig wield it after) them according to the needs of their clients. Nvertheless, the integrity of the inner diameter of the pipings is still intact (I heard we can actually get the raw materials in Bambang or Tayuman) 1 of my cars was done by HP racing and 3 by Brodeth.
About the cone filter, yes Im expecting to see various errors in the intake sensor but pwede ring wala. Not sure. Basta for crdi engines, its better to leave the stock airbox alone (as their design ensures no hot air would be taken in the intake tract) and just upgrade the panel filter.
The reason why im looking forward to having the 4d56hp is because its like having a conservatively chipped 4m41. No need to install anything under the hood. =)
But bka sa next Monty, Strada, and Pajero pa ipasok yun. Haaaaay

Guys I need your opinion about the immobilizer.
Does having an immobilizer on our units make it 'unstealable'?
Do you think it can be bypassed easily?
I'm alarmed by some unconfirmed news that at least two 3.2 units have been stolen in Cebu City. Two others have been reportedly 'attempted' to be stolen in an open parking area of SM Cebu.

JB20689 - thank you sir for enlightening us with your profound knowledge on engine modification. I believe Niky has met his match
Sir may I ask, let's just say I could acquire a VGT (Challenger Spec) can this be simply bolted-on to a 4D56 to replace stock?Last edited by Memphis Raines; December 12th, 2009 at 10:21 PM.

No problem if you really want to try, use a lightbox engine controller for the commonrail, megafire for your injectors and ecu booster for the ECU(all piggy back) ECU shop throttle booster, manual boost controller, Holex turbo, HKS waste gate valve, evo 3 intercooler with stainless pipe's, cast iron 4-1 headers, a smart guage to monitor the engine system and performance. this is my engine mods before 300+ Hp siya but hayop lumaklak nag deisel and also sobra sa power to a point na i need to change my injectors to a bigger one, since im using it off-road i went back to stock and keep only 1 piggy back and manual boost controller now im only around 200- HP pwede na sa 4L ko 1500 rpm enough to climb steep and roll over some obstacle's. By the way im using 3.2 with V5 ecu software (stock Hp is 165hp plus 25Hp with the commonrail piggy back) planning to upgrade my ECU software to V7 on my next PMS.

December 13th, 2009 12:02 AM #8325Ay!! hnd nmn po profound... hahaha I just happened to know these things coz its related to our family business po.
Anyhows, I havent inspected the exhaust turbo manifold of our Montys since I didnt really entertain the idea of changing the factory turbocharger of my SE (it would definitely void the warranty of our engines and tranny)
For this I cant really say its gonna be a bolt on affair (bolt on meaning we remove the factory compressor and replace it with the VGT unit without any modifications done on the manifold and on the air intake tube side) However, the worst case scenario would be to fabricate the entire exhaust manifold and the respective air intake tubing needed in order to accomodate the VGT. Also, slapping a new turbo means there is a NEED to modify our fuel mapping, timing, and boost flow with the aid of a piggyback comp. But its nevertheless doable for someone who really wants to go the extra mile of modification
This is gonna be a higher level of mods and I personally do not recommend it for our Montys. The earlier set of mods I have mentioned should be our first step if we want to safely increase the power and torque production of our engines without hastily compromising the 3 year factory warranty (though if the casa finds out what we have done, tangal din yan for sure) hahaha
I have no idea po if the VGT units on the higher spec Pajero abroad is the same as the ones bolted to 4d56hp. Can someone confirm this?

December 13th, 2009 12:12 AM #8326wow!! Your mods are really phenomenal for a CRDi engine sir Dadz! Saludo po ako sau! hahaha
Anyways, if I may ask sir? Im curious if the factory fuel pump was able to support the required fuel delivery for your mods? Especially when you upgraded na din the injectors? I assume the factory pumps we have wont be able to support 300hp even 230hp at the crank.. hmmmm... or am I wrong po?

I have to agree with you on this one. Modding our rides is an expression of ourselves, our desire to "personalize" our cars. Whether its a truck, car or a van.
about the 4m41 upgrade, the link ive posted one page back contains info about the existence of a 4m41 equipped with VGT. but unfortunately it's only available in japan.
i think just putting in the VGT wouldn't do. (goodluck finding one here) i believe there is a need to change the ECU.
