I not sure it will void the warranty, because some told me yes, and some say No.....
By the way, we plan to invite tech person from MMCP to attend our next EB, hope you can come and ask him the question direct.....
As for me,i dont install turbo timer to my Monty, because i own SAAB Aero before, the expert from SAAB told me, nowaday the turbo tech are very advance. the only thing was, if our monty alway run on low compression, like alway city driving, is better to stress the engine once a month, which mean need to run on high RPM and high speed for 10 to 15 mins, clear out all the carbon in combustion chamber and the turbo.....
And this advice was 1996.....i think Dont need to install turbo timer na...
So far i dont have any problem on SAAB turbo......
But on 1986 my first car Dahatsu Turbo.....every 6 months i need clear up the mini turbo, even i do have turbo timer......that 23 years ago.............
Oh No, someone can guess my ages now....

i suggest you ask your SA also since engine warranty is more serious than that of electrical and others. also winterpine does not carry any turbo timer at the moment and i guess that's one way to avoid any future hassles since the commonrail 4m41 and 4d56 is somewhat new. IMO lang
but some shops have it like eclipse and cartronics in del monte. i think it's less than 4K - depends on the brand.

I agree with the idea, but i don't think its the reason for turbo timers, those you mentioned are ways to use a turbo basically.
Turbo timers essentially are used to prolong engine life. Its function is to keep the engine running when you've stopped the car so that the oil in the turbo chamber would burn as much as possible leaving little to no residue stored in the chambers. Some people just sit in their cars idle a few seconds/minutes before turning off their engines. Then we have us who's lazy to do so or in a hurry when we get to our destinations and want to turn off our cars right away. So the reason for installing turbo timers is to burn up that oil left from our trip, which could build up after a few years especially if you're a high rev driver.
My suggestion for those who do not want a turbo timer, a few km before you hit your destination, just drive low revs and try not to press on the gas hard, and it'll be ok. If you've gone long distances with high revs, highway roads, adjust the distance of when to slow down. That'll help a lot already.
*mikko as for the warranty... adding anything can void the warranty, that's just how the system work in the phils. By adding it, it could void your warranty for the turbo. But some say that by installing it at winterpine the warranty, the warranty might not be voided. But mitsubishi will find any way to void your warranty of course.. My recommendation to you, get yoru timer afte the warranty expires, there's absolutely no immediate need for it anyways. I don't think you can build up enough oil deposits to ruin your car in 3 years.

Guys,
The following was taken from an article in The Philippine Star:
Very interesting tally of votesIf you care to find out how the different automobile models that are included in the public polls for the most popular brands and models in the 2009 Auto Focus Automobile of the Year – People’s Choice Awards are doing in the online voting you can jus log on to the voting website www.autofocus.com.ph and click on the tally button.
However, what’s not reflected there is the ranking of brands and models with the combined votes from ballots from The Philippine STAR, Top Gear and Speed magazines, which I have for you as of noon of Monday, July 20, 2009.
Here’s the 2009 Automobile of the Year (Top 10)
1. Lexus LS40
2. Mitsubishi Montero Sports
3. Kia Carnival
4. Honda Accord
5. Isuzu Crosswind
6. Kia Carens
7. Toyota Vios
8. Toyota Innova
9. Honda Civic
10. Subaru Forester
What’s not included in this partial tally are votes cast through the country’s top pop music station, Magic 89.9.
This means, our Montero is already ahead of the Fortuner (before including the votes cast via Magic 89.9). Imagine, it is just a notch below Lexus! Wow!
