January 27th, 2006 11:47 AM #21People, dont forget about your yearly rust warranty checkup! I had mine last year (even though it was already a month off, sinabay ko kasi sa PM). No rust formation. And last month I spotted small rust on the passenger door, malapit sa fram ng window, (maliit lang siya) lagyan ko ng konting grease for protection. Brought it to casa for my 35K PMS and raised my concern and walang ka-proble-problema inayos nila free of charge - sa job order nakalagay it cost P1.8K. Then, I had my second year rust warranty checkup again - no rust formation ulit. 30mins lang ang checkup and free of charge! It is really worth it!
The service engr informs me of bumps seen in underchassis most likely due to rocks, but no rust formation there! They recommend 3M undercoating (well, they'll do that)... but I am confident I won't need it for at least another year.Last edited by RafRaf; January 27th, 2006 at 11:54 AM.

the new adventure has a three warranty against rust. what is important is that on a year anniversary you have to bring it the your dealer for warranty check for three years. if you don't do it the warranty is void, so it is important to do the annual check-up.
if you do the undercoating during this period, the warranty against rust will be void also.

March 4th, 2008 01:54 PM #24Mga sir im newbie here....... i just like to share my knowledge and experience about undercoating....
Undercoat is different from rust proof........
All new mitsu cars have 3 years warranty for rustproof. They (casa) claims that their units have undercoat as well. But I doubt it.
As what i do with my L300 van, Pajero field master and my latest advie, from casa i have it undercoated outright. habang malinis pa ilalim and rust free as in. these does not void the warranty of rust proof from casa.
Upto now my old L300 underchasis (94) is rust free, same with pajero (2002).

When I availed of the casa's collision repair service two years ago through insurance, they threw in free undercoating as well.

Lahat naman ng kotse walang undercoat coz they're all treated before painting, undercoating is just an aftermarket thing that dealers make money off. Do a search about undercoating here we have a long thread about it.
Basically it's not a necessity but not a bad idea either if done correctly, but just for the sake of the thread title, bnew cars shouldn't have that gunk underneath.
