The Montero cars with no brake first before shift should be recalled. delikado ang cars nyo, say a newbie or novice or daydresaming or preoccupied driver ang nasa manibela.

You are sold a 4d56 engine, a 90s ers engne na mated with automatic transmission.

Malakas tumalon ang 4d56. Try starting the engine of a MT L300FB with first gear engaged, ang lakas ng torque

Now, this is the one causing problems with the AT Monteros + of course, driver error included,

Regardless, if driver error or design flaw, Mitsubishi should be proactive for the public safety.

But would they admit this? they put in an old engine and passed it as equals sa current fortuner/everest/ Mux, but it's not. Kaya pala nabababaan nila ng husto ang Montero with irresistible discounts,

Tsk tsk. mitsubishi should recall the affected units and install the safety feature.

p.S. Think about your loved ones, there are so many Monteros on the roads as there are so many preoccupied drivers now given our daily stressful situations, You may say that it may not happen on your watch because you believe you are a good driver, but those 97 cases are not really good drivers like you. Public safety ang primary concern dito

You maybe right. But public safety is a concern of LTO when it comes to the driver. You did not consider the corruption in this country. Anyone can have a professional drivers license as long as you have the money to pay corrupt agency like LTO. Car lobbyist maybe involve in this too, for market positioning. Other owner may take advantage so they can no longer pay their obligations.

What you are saying is ridiculous! to say the least. You want us to believe, that dilapidated surplus motor vehicle running around this country is safer than montero sports??? really?

Just because the Montero does not conform with/copy the design of a preferred brand does not mean that there is a design flaw. I have a 2002 Lancer A/T (and still driving it because the Montero is too big for a lone passenger) and I can shift gear without applying the brakes. But I never experienced any SUA (good thing), just because I don't readily shift w/o ensuring that my foot is at the brake pedal and that the hand brake is engaged.

Mitsubishi vehicles are known for power (speed for the Lancers and high torque for the diesel units), dependability, and durability; unlike the other brand who's famous for under-powering their units just to get a better profit margin.

The point is, it is the role of every RESPONSIBLE driver to get familiar, adapt, and get accustomed to the vehicle before driving such. That is why we see drivers adjusting the seats and mirror, testing the pedals and gears, etc before starting the vehicle.

The problem is not with the Montero, it is with the LTO, for giving a driver's license to just every interested Juan or Maria without really evaluating the capability and understanding of such person.

I agree.
