Ok sir. For Family use lang naman as long as hindi usad pagong sa kalye ok na sakin yun. Which would you recommend MT or AT?

Bros.,- hindi ba mausok ang unit ninyo?

I saw a couple of brand new MS lately (no plate number yet),- malakas ang usok... I was thinking, target na naman ito ng asbu...

Bumubuga lang yung sakin kapag sudden acceleration. Other than that, wala naman ako na notice na significant na usok.

For city driving on a non-vgt a/t, ok naman and mas comfortable lalo na if sanay na sa AT ang owner/driver.
But if you sometimes go for a long drive and spirited driving, then I would suggest the MT since we lack the horsepower that the VGT versions now enjoy.

I think this is normal. I am just making sure that I visually check my exhaust during cold start. Dapat di ito mausok kahit sa unang crank palang ng pag-andar.
Yung mga montero na mausok kadalasan is I think they are AT's, and from a slow down, they try to "floor" the throttle for a quick launch.

just fill up your rig with the right diesel. montys are built as euro 4 rigs, so use euro 4.

bale tried and tested ko w/ my glx mt from dead-stop level road = 1st gear, dont release the clutch fully, and by the time it gains momentum at 2k RPM, shift immediately to 2nd gear,,, suwabe, turbo kicks in and voila 3rd gear kana.

caution: not releasing the clutch fully while gaining momentum at 1st gear requires a lot of practice sa "pagtantiya", so as not to introduce unwanted wear & tear sa clutch system.. disadvantage kasi when doing a quick launch is you get jerky differential if clutch is fully released at 1st gear, then clutch in again for 2nd gear..
    Thanks bro!

I would say that gradually i am beginning to get used to driving my unit. konti konti nakukuha ko na yong right gearing and rev up ng engine. for the past 6 years i was driving petrol powered engine that is whey when i shifted to diesel medyo naninibago ako. on the other hand, when it comes to fuel efficiency, i would say na fuel efficient nga ang montero. last apr 5 i loaded 60 liters (plus the 10 liters pre-loaded in my fuel tank- petron turbo diesel). 60 liters lasted for 638 km which gives me an ave of 11 km per liter.

my other car (chevrolet optra) consumes almost the same but the engine is only 1.6. what about you, what is your fuel consumption?

*joey_tuason - pareho pala tayong 1st time sa diesel. galing naman ako sa gen1 crv m/t kaya sobrang nanibago ako sa power vs. diesel, but at the same time laking tuwa ko sa fuel efficiency.. bale i get 11~12km/l now these days for city driving, and constant 12km/l for mixed and 16km/l for pure hiway -- petron regular diesel max..
