Montero Fuel Filter element replacement

Ito yung problem sa montero ng friend ko. Paano nyo pinalitan para makagamit ng aftermarket fuel filter like baldwin bf7535?

Buti yung sa uncle ko 2011 montero kaya hindi pa element type. Start ba ng 2012 element na?

yes, from model 2012 onwards, filter element na. the only way siguro para magamit yung dating canister type filter is to change the whole filter assembly. so far, wala pa ako nabalitaan na nagpalit. ang kalaban lang talaga ng element type filter ay dirty fuel at water. sa mga kagaya ko na nakaranas ng CEL due to dirt at water sa fuel, petron ang madalas na culprit sa ganyan.

Sir sakin 17k na odo reading ko petron diesel max panay pinapakarga ko til now. No CEL issue, basta isang gas station lang lagi ko kinakargahan. 20k pms palit na ako fuel filter

Kawawa naman ang petron. Siya ang kadalasan ang culprit. Hehe

2011 models have canister types like bro zix GTV, my 2012 model GTV and later are fitted with element type. i dont know that meron palang 2013 model na canister type din. when i started this thread, i like to established kung may design flaw ba sa element type na fuel filter since its too restrictive at madaling magclogged unlike sa canister type. but at the end, it all boils down to dirty diesel fuel at depende saan ka gas station nagpapakarga. most if not all complaints sa CEL ng montero ang culprit lagi ay petron. i too liked their turbo diesel, but after experiencing frequent CEL then i opted for other fuel suppliers. i even went further in getting the ave. monthly FC of my unit by each type of diesel fuel near my area and posted each result at mitsu FC thread. the best result i had was ave. 10.2km/li for shell fuel save and 9.4km/li using caltex techron in mix city/provincial roads. i settled with either shell fuel save and caltex techron and i have note encounter any fuel filter related CEL from then.

me too bro zix. you should know sa dami mo ng kinalikot at pinalitan ng fuel filter na montero at pajero might be that kutang bato thinks canister type yung fuel filter casing. or kutang bato need to check baka yung nabili niya ay hindi 2013 model kidding aside, if its indeed a canister type then mas maganda, he can use the BF7534 balwin filter and mas matagal bago magpalit ng fuel filter.

My 2014 montero was scheduled for its 5k PMS last week. I read on this forum to mark the parts that were scheduled for replacement, in my case, the fuel filter.

Am i correct, the filter is located right side of the engine, and close to the top?

Well funny thing I learned because of this thread, the mark was really useless because I just put a mark on the case for the filter.. hehe
