mga gurus, ask ko lang po. what seems the problem, bakit po hard starting ang pajero ko, newly calibrated naman, nagpalit narin po me ng bagong battery. i think sa glowplugs, but hindi rin me sure, kasi after nya start and napaandar ko na, then off ang engine. medyo redondo parin sya ng ilang seconds b4 start ulit. kaya hindi ko rin masabi na sa glow plugs. and ask ko lang din po, bakit kaya my lumalabas na word na "HOLD" sa dashboard ko, para san po kaya iyon.? tnx

Yung "hold" is mode ng transmission, it has three POWER,NORMAL, & HOLD. its the button (with A/T label )between the A/T shifter stick and the centre console. Try to put the key in the on position for a couple of seconds, wait for the click then start.

This switch, adjacent to the automatic shift lever, allows the driver to choose the gear range as appropriate.

There are three positions, POWER, AUTO and HOLD.

POWER: when switched on, the POWER light will show on the dash. In normal driving, with the shift lever in D, the power mode will operate through the full range of gears 1 to 3 plus overdrive when active. In 2, the power mode will only operate through 1 to 2, and in L, the power mode will only operate on the first gear.

AUTO: In auto mode, the transmission will automatically change between POWER and ECONOMY modes as driving conditions define, changing to POWER mode for example when starting a hill ascent.

HOLD: The HOLD light will show on the dash. The transmission will operate in ECONOMY mode through the full range of selected gears, not changing any higher than the selected gear, for example if you have selected L, the transmission will not change up to 2 or higher.

    *collosus,
My guess, you have a problem w/ your glow plugs, umis start dahil sa repeated & long attempt of your starter but it is not good for your starter & battery, madali naman mag self test, remove glow plugs & test it with the negative & positive connection to battery, pinaka ulo is + the small end(-)pag uminit oke pag wala epek throw it na.
