and to this day, i do not know how i could have made such a mistake.
suffice to say, "it happens to the best of us."

September 12th, 2020 09:33 PM #4777On this, ang nagkamali na muscle memory ko was puyat and manual dala. Akala ko brake tinatapakan ko kasi siya yung left-most pedal. Paalis pa lang ako parking, kakastart. pag release ko handbrake nagtataka ako bakit umaabante yung kotse (may slight incline). Hindi ko naisip iakyat yung kaliwang paa ko sa inakala ko brake pedal kaya inaangat ko na lang ang handbrake. Paglingon ko dun ko nakita ang gear lever, "ay oo nga pala, manual nga pala itong dala ko." hehe!

Meron na din ako instance na nalaglag yung emergency water bottle ko sa isang biyahe ko at napailalim sa likod ng brake pedal. Di ako makapreno nun sa provincial road buti na lang hindi marami kotse, nadahan dahan ko papunta sa shoulder at nakadownshift para makaengine brake kahit papaano. Walang lugar ng bottle holder ang Revo kaya nasa upuan lang nakapatong, di kasya sa door pocket. Buti ngayon medyo hirap ka na makahanap na walang cup holder ang kotse.

On another note, yung Innova na sumampa sa Alterra (if I'm not mistaken) automatic sa news alam na "driver error". Walang alinlangan na ganun sasabihin. Hindi man lang nila hint ang SUA as a possibility.

* We have identified only one plausible explanation for the SUA incidents involving sudden undemanded acceleration together with perceived inability to stop the vehicle. This is pedal misapplication, where the driver is pressing the accelerator pedal while believing that their foot is on the brake.
* Initial investigations into whether ergonomic design may make the vehicle more susceptible to pedal misapplication is presented in Appendix 5 but the outcome is not conclusive.Pedal lateral positioning was considered to be a possible cause, but other vehicles in the Philippines with a similar pedal layout have a low incident rate so other factors must be involved.Recommendations for additional investigation are given in Section 10.
