    Too Much... (Fuel Consumption)
    Too Little... (Sales)
Too Late... (for the MIVEC and CRDi models)

Looking forward for better models to come... Something MUST happen in 2009 for the Fuzion. Mitsubishi has paid too much attention to the SUV and Pickup lineup (although it still leaves something to be desired actually). It must be the AUV/MPV's turn now! The Adventure lineup must be trimmed and the Fuzion's must be beefed up!

yeah.. now that the new Innova is coming, Mitsu should fight with toyota to be on top..GLX should compete with the Innova E, then the GLS Sport to the Innova G, then add another variant to compete with the Innova V, "GLS SE" maybe.. Remove the GX variant of the Adventure because The L300FB is already there... or better yet, RETIRE the Adventure... :]

ayon sa sales rep ng Mitsu, hindi daw maglalabas ng Diesel na Fuzion, coz it will compete with their own Montero Sport. Kumbaga, if you want a CRDi na 7 seater, you have to buy the Montero Sport.

imho, magkaiba ang market ng fuzion and montero sport, just like the innova and fortuner. MMPC badly needs a crdi fuzion to compete with the innova... hehe yun lang po peace!

exactly. dapat nga ganun eh. kaso may pretentions yata sila na ang Fuzion ay isang entry level SUV at hindi MPV.

What do they got to lose by having a diesel option sa Fuzion?

For one, those who initially want the Montero Sport are not looking to consider the Fuzion. Sabihin pa nila it will compete with the Outlander but that vehicle is not moving either. CUVs or a 5-seater small SUV do not really sell alot compare to the AUV/MPV.

The Innova proved the viability of this market positioning. The Fuzion is within grasp it just being saddled by its poor fuel consumption which can be addressed by having a diesel option. IMHO, a CRDI may not even be needed--a 4D56-T will even do the job.

The Sportivo is still selling. The Adventure, a reliable sell in the Mitsubishi lineup, is still breathing life and IMHO this is the one they are protecting. But obviously in its last legs.

Why are they afraid of Mitsubishi vehicles competing each other? At least di na lumipat sa ibang brand. Take a look at Hyundai which seems to have a vehicle offering for every other category in mind.

Today, the name of the game is market share.

*Sir Gerbo, if MMPC will have it your way, 4D56t can be considered as long as it includes the INTERCOOLER to match the hp/torque figures of the Innova (100hp/24.5kg/m from the Pajero). This is the exact configuration powering the basic models of the Hyundai Grand Starex TCI.

The 4D56 CRDi D-iD Turbo IMO is still the most feasible even without the intercooler at 116hp from Mitsubishi Thailand's website. I have a hunch that Isuzu (i'm not communicating with them though) is doing something about the Next Generation Crosswind and i'm quite sure that the will utilize a smaller version of the D-Max/Alterra's 3.0 CRDi. The 2.5 CRDi that is currently present in Thailand powering some 4x2 and 4x4 D-Max models producing a similar hp/torque figure versus Mitsubishi's.

for everything else, i do agree with you, trist323 and rhuwrx! let it be known that it WON'T... i repeat- it WON'T conflict with the Montero Sport kahit maglabas sila ng 2.5 4x2! :peace: even if it has the tag "Sport Wagon" or even "entry-level SUV", it will always be an MPV that happens to be the successor of the Adventure.

I think that the Fuzion won't conflict with the pricing of the Outlander 4x2 GLX- if MMPC will pattern the price and packaging from the Innova. PLUS considering that MMPC is known for offering a product with a price that is a notch down from the competition. Its pricing contemporaries will likely be the Lancer EX and Strada 2.5 lineup.

The Adventure should be a level lower- probably delete the Super Sport and GLS Sport variants and retain the GX and the (to be slightly upgraded) GLX to be aimed at the Avanza. another me-too act? unfortunately Yes.

If i am the Product Planner, i want the Fuzion to have 4 grades to start with the 2.5 D-iD: GL, GLX and GLS and Sport with the GLX, GLS and SE having A/T option and the 2.4 MIVEC will be available at the GLX, GLS (A/T option) and Sport (A/T only). It may not have as much varieties as the Innova, but i'm sure the variety i have in mind will help keep the MMPC plant in Cainta afloat!

    Good point sir.

If we take a look at CAMPI figures, the Innova and the Vios are the top-selling vehicles with more than 50% of the market share across all vehicles sold.

The Fuzion is in an enviable place to complete with the Innova esp. being similarly-sized... and it only need a diesel option to convince a lot of people probably. Filipinos love diesels for their people /family movers. Case in point, the Nissan Urvan with a fairly reliable powerplant and less than stellar riding amenities is up there with its rivals. Ibig sabihin nabebenta.

The MPV vehicle is virtually a goldmine category. Incidentally, Nissan's Grand Livina is a bold attempt to enter the fray but comes up short because it is relatively small and again no diesel option.

Well, for the Vios, Mitsubishi does not have a counterpart. Probably the Colt if they bring it here. But that is another story.
