May 22nd, 2007 03:04 PM #283the fuzion is coming - end of june according to my source - aimed at innova and maybe dip into some of the entry level CRV sales. equipped with 2.4 gas engine - pricing will be competitive for its segment. by the way it's a 7 seater

2.4???
they should bring a diesel version instead of the gas version. Havent Mitsubishi learned it? We WANT diesel because diesel will sell. Oh, of course thats the Di-D commonrail...
Thailands sale's with the Zinger is bad because its 2.4 is a gas guzzler. Now please Di-D na dalhin nyo MMPH! So if they are not considering it... I hope you're ready for crying.iam3739.com

From the looks of things, they made the Fuzion available only in gas version because they didn't want to eat into the sales of the Adventure, since they're going to be parallel models.
If you'll notice, the top-of-the-line Adventure variant (Super Sport) has been available exclusively as a diesel-powered machine. If this continues across the rest of the Adventure model range (GL, GLX, GLS Sport), we may see the eventual phase-out of the gasoline-powered Adventure altogether, to make room for the Fuzion 2.4L.Last edited by Bogeyman; May 22nd, 2007 at 03:46 PM.

AFAIK, there's no such thing as a DI-D Zinger/Fuzion anywhere, at least for now.
The scenario I'm trying to depict is, uubusin na yung stock ng gasoline Adventure, so that every new Adventure sold henceforth will only be available with the 4D56 diesel engine. The permanent phase-out of the 4G63 Adventure will thus result in a market void, and this is where the Fuzion 2.4L comes in. In effect, the diesel Adventure and the gas Fuzion will cater to two sides of the market; the former as a low-cost model, and the latter as a more upscale vehicle.
But take note, this is all just speculation on my part.Last edited by Bogeyman; May 23rd, 2007 at 09:23 AM.

May 23rd, 2007 11:37 PM #289I saw an entire car-carrier of Fuzions/Zingers just tonight, south-bound near Makro Buendia...
I wonder where those could be headed.
Anyway, it doesnt really make sense for MMPH to leave the Fusion with only a gasoline engine, MIVEC or not. (although MIVEC would be nice for a gas lump, consumption concerns aside...)
- Leave the Outlander to handle the higher-end market.
- Make the Zinger/Fuzion handle the entry/mid-level commercial vehicle market, much like how Toyota's IMV project does.
- Sell both in 4x4 and 4x2 versions, and let consumers have the choice between gas and diesel engines.
- Have upscale and "mass-market" variants to counter the Innova and even the Fortuner. Let the Adventure deal with Avanza. (If it were up to me though, I'd put one of those new CRDI 4D56 engines on the Montero Sport and release a facelifted, updated version
)
- Profit. [hopefully.]
