from my experience when climbing up hill with the revo gas.. pag nasa 1st gear eh parang meron sya certain speed limit.. pag above 3000rpm na (mine is 1RZ-E gas pala) walang effect at nasasayang lang yung gas.. so maintain ko lang 2800-3000rpm then shift to 2nd gear pag pwede na.. dito pa lang bibilis yung revo when climbing up-hill..
baka naman diesel yung starex na sinusundan niyo... masarap i-akyat ang diesel sa baguio .. nung ma-drive ko yung revo diesel ni erpat ... sobrang dali umakyat sa baguio.. walang kahirap-hirap.. around 2000 to 2500rpm lang at no need to shift sa 1st gear sa kenon road.. ito ang advantage ng diesel compared sa gas when going up-hill.. sa revo gas namin, pag nakita ko na diesel nasa harap ko eh hindi na ako oovertake unless sobrang bagal nya..
also, mas malakas din pulling power ng car (mga 1500cc or 1600cc) compared to revo gas kaya na notice mo siguro yung difference..
sa kenon road.. kelangan lang talaga ang bwelo.. wag matakot sa engine noise basta within correct rpm range lang.. at mabilis kamay when turning on a curve steep hill and always stay on your lane kahit anong curve pa .. sa mga diesel engines eh halos hindi mo na kelangan ng bwelo.. tapok lang sa pedal eh aakyat yun compared sa mga gas engines..
pag nasanay ka sa ganito eh kayang-kaya mo na ang 2nd gear sa mga sharp curve.. pero syempre kung kinakabahan ka eh mag slow down na lang.. it is better to be safe than mahulog sa bangin..

marketing strategy nga nila yun, shempre you dont wanna lose to your competitior diba..
pero lakas rin bumirit adventure na gas...
until now naman yung gala t na saloon 4g63 eh haha i think they use it bcz itsgood a n reliable engine..parang 4D56 ng mitsu..yun rin gamit nila sa exceed, L200, L300, starex, adventure diesel... hehe
