haaaaay yang saturn engine na yan....dami kong sakit ng ulo dyan! hahahaha. ilang beses na rin akong tinirik nun. by the way, i had the last gen L-type lancer 4-door with the laundry soap bar rear lights and 1.6l engine with solex single carb. in fairness, sobrang walang alaga yun kaya laging barado ang carb, electrical problems, overheating, etc.

but i loved that car. daming memories kasi HS ko sya gamit.

Yung astron ata sa boxtpe galant super saloon na 1.8L..meron din kasi Galant GL na boxtype na 1.6L..antares na 15" lang na 50 series katapat nun tska puting seatcover at walang tint gwapings na nun

hi there,

i do agree with everyone, the engines that almost everyone has mentioned are indeed legendary:
4D56 - 2.5 Diesel
4G63 - 2.0 Gasoline
4G33 - 1.4 Gasoline
4G32 - 1.6 Gasoline

and IMO, the next batch of engines that will be legendary 10-15 years from now:
4B11 - 2.0 Gasoline and other 4B1* engines coming in the future
4M41 - 3.2 Diesel
6B31 - 3.0 V6 Gasoline
4N1* - 1.8 and 2.2 New Clean Diesels

4g32 - saturn (70's galant and L-type lancer)
4g33 - astron (boxtype lancer and 80's galant)

I'm not totally sure but I think there were no 1800 saturn engines na linabas for boxtypes. Yun sirius na nakalagay sa GSR and GT boxtypes ay emblem lang. Yun susunod na malaking makina ay yun Astron80 (2.0l from lambda).

Dunno. Could be as I'm not an expert on engines but I found something on the 'Net that might be the closest description I can find about that car:

In 1980, The Lancer EX was introduced with a 1.8 L turbocharged 4-cylinder option known as the 1800GSR and GT Turbo. The first generation 1800GSR and GT only came out generating 135 PS (133 hp/99 kW) only not until in 1983 where the Intercooler was introduced that made the 1800GSR Turbo achieve 165 PS (163 hp/121 kW). No other information was found if whether the 1800GT Turbo also had the Intercooler in 1983.

The car looked like this but it didn't have the fog-lamps up front. However, it did have the same "banana-type" Rota mags and a Foha "spoiler" at the back. The car's color was orange. I had the venerable Pioneer KP-5 as the main source of entertainment.

All I know that car was friggin fast and can burn 140kph rubber easily. Where's the car now? I've no idea

yup, mitsu phils or diamond / canlubang automotive etc. then only released the mitsu box type SL with saturn 1400cc (from '80 up to '88) and the legendary GSR 1600cc which had its debut in '82. - lakas ng dating nito noon! later on became the GT up to '88 too.

sirius 80 to be exact was only an emblem to make it look US or JDM. - i remember the grill of this, equipped with an extra lamp which looks good with a yellow bulb.

the 2.0 astron was fitted on the 2-door galant a.k.a.lambda / super touring.
