    Hi all,
I am planning to buy a second hand 2011 Lancer.
It's is Ex Gls 2.0. The engine is 4b11. After checking the internet, I see many horror stories of the timing chain stretching and damaging the whole engine although the chain should last the life of the engine.
Are there any local cases? Is this a major problem in all the Lancer?
    Please help thanks

"nothing lasts forever", including timing chains.
but chains usually last longer than the timing belts.
errr... who are these complainants? ordinary drivers, or rally car drivers?

2.0 engine? hindi ba matakaw yan sa gas? is that not why the owner is selling it? heh heh.
i ask, because i know not.

Thanks for replying. If you search for 4b11, you can see soo many issues with the timing chain.. Some even stretching as early as 40,000kms. Some even said it needs to be replaced around 100,000kms.
2.0 is heaven to me lol as I am coming from 3.5 gas.
