No update on my trouble yet bro. I haven't found time to go to Mitsu C5 or Citimotors.
One thing is for sure, I'll be checking out the Compressor Clutch myself tomorrow. I've been asking and talking to a lot of people about the AC system. So far, it's either the compressor or the clutch assembly/bearing.
I've been asking myself over and over again too. If this was the compressor, why is it still cool? But Mitsu's Mit-Air guy thinks its the compressor.
This week, I heard one of my colleagues' car at our parking floor. It's an Altis, 1st gen. I asked and told him that his car has the same rattle noise as mine. He said he already brought it to Denso, and their tech guys said it's the clutch assembly. The Compressor works fine, the bearings in the clutch are plainly worn-out and so they rattle.
So, goodluck sa akin bukas. Heheh!

Hahaha. Yep. I'll be a mechanic tomorrow, and when time permits, I'll even post pics to help others just in case. Medyo kakaiba ang setup ng compressor natin eh, nasa baba, and can't be reached by hand easily. Sa ilalim ang entrada, after removing the splash cover.
(Hear this, my friends at hyundai and honda are offering me to get my ac system cleaned for 1,200 Php.)

For city driving and para makatipid, use 93 RON.
For highway driving, try mo 95 RON. Pero ako, I gave up w/ 95 RON. Parang the car is still making the same power regardless of octane. So...even on highways, 93 RON ako.

Before I do my update, congrat's sa mga new lancer owners. Mukhang nag-e-enjoy kayo ah. Heheh!
And here's the update:
This morning I had a talk with Mr. Beng/Bing Santos of Mit-Air. He's the Asst. Vice President of Mit-Air (Parts Division).
Guess what? He's so easy to talk to. In less than 10 minutes, we were settled. I heard what I wanted to hear from him, that, ultimately, the Customer will still be the approver of what is going to be done in his/her car. We have the right to say yes or no. However, since I did not comply with their recommendation of the General Cleaning (for some reasons), my warranty for the A/C system will then be void after changing the compressor. This is a fair trade (for me), although it's still arguable at that point, I didn't bother arguing for it anymore.
I understand that the reciever drier and the expansion valve needs to be replaced, but then I'd have to see first if it REALLY needs to be.
That's where the little deception occurs since the service bay is off-limits. How would you know if the expansion valve or other parts need to be replaced? If you were shown a dirty or failed part, how would you know if it was yours? Mit-Air has a guideline wherein they recommend cleaning of the a/c system every year or 20,000 kms, but then, how are we to know if it really needs cleaning when we can't see it. They recommend a general service cleaning because my compressor failed, but the truth is my compressor is still working, it's just damn noisy (which is a warning sign that it will soon fail). By the way, it's also an indicator that it lacked oil when it came out.
I respect all their rules, maybe I'm just too skeptic about things.
And so in the end, I won. I'll have my lancer get the replacement compressor this week.
So my fellow lancer owners, always read the manual and know what your rights are. Ingatan ang compressor.
keep your engine bay clean, Mr. Muscle at Towel lang katapat nyan. Ingat lang sa may bandang Throttle heheh.
up for suzuki
