cleaning includes lots of parts and consumables that I don't even need, just because I strongly feel that I'm being extorted for money and I really don't think that I should need that cleaning right now.
So paano kung 6 months ka pa lang, nasira na compressor, ganyan din dadaanan mo. Parang trap ang setup kasi. Dun ako naiinis din.

May 3rd, 2011 12:44 PM #1564Try this tactic. If MIT AIR want cleaning. Just agree with them with this condition. MIT AIR shoulders the price. You will pay nothing.
For the new compressor, get the warranty pls. Malay mo, pa-aayos nila yun old compressor mo, yun rin ang kakabit nila.

Well, for sure they won't agree with that proposition bro. Lagi ko inuulit-ulit sa kanila nga eh, compressor nyo sira, masyado maaga nasira. Ang gagawin lang papalitan, walang lilinisin dahil walang metal filings na nai-pump yung compressor. It's that simple.
For the new compressor, in case I win this nonsense argument, I have asked them to give me a trace/release papers that the new unit came from storage and not from another car.

May 4th, 2011 10:20 PM #1567Hi Lancer owners,
I've been monitoring this thread since last year pa - type ko talaga tong Lancer GLX. Went to a dealer to inspect a display unit last week. Saan kaya pwede mag request test drive?
Here's the thread about my buying plans:
http://tsikot.yehey.com/forums/showthread.php?t=78628
From Vios - to New Accent - got postponed - then now Lancer.
It looks like malapit na ma-finalize. A silver Lancer GLX is now my top choice.
Some questions po:
What do I need to look out for pag kinuha ko na unit (minor/not so obvious damage/scratches)?
Paano ko ma sure kung hinde old stock, or worse display/test drive unit? San ba assembled ang Lancer GLX 1.6?
Another thing -
Although I'm ok with it, di ba malapit na due for new generation ang model na to?
I also noted your comments about certain dealers.
Thanks

1. When inspecting for scratches, look at a certain angle. From there you can see if there are uneven surfaces, dents and scratches. It's a little bit hard to do that on a Silver.
2. Start the engine. It should be perfect. Turn all the lights and the AC System on.
3. Check all doors for squeaky-ness, as well as the Trunk and Hood. They all should be snappy and should have a 'chug' sound during closing and not a 'clank'.
4. Check your tints for bubbles.
5. Check the steering wheel. Mitsu is well known for its power steering motor failures.
6. When test-driving, close all windows, turn off the AC in the meantime. Listen closely for the engine sound at different speeds. It should be a perfect 'rowr'.
6.1. Check the odometer. Should be less than 20 kms.
6.2. Check the brake pedal for 'playing'. It should be responsive. The stock brake pad will generate lots of brake dust. You'll be cleaning your mags regularly for that.
6.3. Check the Head/Tail lights for cracks.
6.4. Check the Front/Rear bumper distance to the body. The gap should be close enough.
6.5. Check all plastic knobs and other stuff in the dashboard. They shouldn't be loose.
6.6. Check the speakers. Use the head unit to control the balance so that you'll know which speaker is working and which isn't.
7. Final thing to note, the lancer's 4G18 is an old-school engine (a 1970 design). It's not high-tech, but it sure is durable. It sounds like diesel engine at startup. Heheh.
I think that should help you. It took me about an hour at the inspection bay to finish all that. (OC kasi.)
Cedia was released to celebrate 100 years of Mitsu 'daw'. So it's a special release. The next generation lancer is out already, and it's the EX.
Goodluck!

May 5th, 2011 03:56 PM #1570Thanks sir 0Glitch, very informative.
Gagawin ko talaga to.
Sa test drive, you mean I can test drive upon releasing, and if there are problems, they will replace it with a new one?
It might be wierd, but I like it better that it's older engine technology.
I just don't trust new technology that comes with low price, like those in subcompacts with VVTs in their engines, for big cars, new tech is ok with me, but not for low end ones.
Hindi naman siguro kasing ingay ng Adventure?
Also the power steering, I don't like the computer game-like electronic power steering of the newer tech cars.
Mas may feedback daw ang EX, which I like - ganun din ba ang Cedia?
So eventually, Cedia will be the last 1.6 Lancer model and only EX will continue?
I'm ok with that, but not sure how it will help me with my ownership of a Cedia if they stop production - support will still be ok?
Sir Battlestar, yes 47K and standard discount, at least sa lahat ng Diamond Motors. And sabi pa sa kin, 5k-10k more pa raw ang labanan between dealers.
up for suzuki
