for those na nagkaron na ng scratches and had them retouched/fixed, did you guys tried making the insurance pay for it? eg: parked somewhere you thought the guards would look over your car, but in the end, paglabas mo, may kung sinong gumuhit; and illegally parked motorbike hidden in the dark and you suddenly bump to it while on reverse. err..

Yes, medyo mababa yun CVT models sa FC on city driving. Pansin ko kasi, ang idling usually is around 1k rpm lalo na pag mainit at bukas aircon. FC usually around 7-8km/l. Pagsobra pang traffic like Divisoria nowadays, goes as low as 6km/l.

CVT shines on the long stretches. 100kph * 2.2k rpm. Long drives will net you 12-13 km/l. Use and abuse that "6th gear".

Lancer 1.6l is an old engine. Same as the current toyota altis. Old rin yun engine.
Civic 1.8L is SOHC. DOHC and SOHC doesn't equate to old engine that's why SOHC
SOHC ka para tipid mag-ayos ng makina. Its cheaper to build a SOHC than a DOHC.

ahh ok sir. thanks. so not necessarily pag DOHC, mas matipid pala sa gas.
what technology does the lancer uses? like sa Toyota naka VVTi technology.

thanks. baka talagang the mivec is not known to be fuel efficient. parang nabasa ako sa mga altis users nakaka 10 to 11 din ata sila sa normal city driving.

Lancer MX 2002 using this 1.6L engine is not known for fuel economy. Mine consumed gas like a 2.0L so I sold it kahit bagsak presyo.
    sorry kung OT.

same case with my accord. binenta ko din because of fuel consumption.

    +1

On the open road, I get an average of 12.5 Km/L. Sa city driving, parang Cefiro V6 kung lumaklak ng gas hehe. I'm talking about the GLS model with CVT and non-MIVEC SOHC engine.

1.6L has no MIVEC, no MIVEC = can offer the car cheap = SPARE PARTS abound! :D
2.0L has the MIVEC engine and is as fuel efficient as a 2.0L car can be.

It has a big FC because its heavy for a 1.6L car. 1.6L Altis is lighter than Lancer hence on stop and go traffic Lancer FC would take a hit + the higher idling speed.
You might hear Mazda 3 1.6L consumes gas like no tomorrow and ass slow...Its because Mazda 3 is even heavier than the Lancer. :D

For the price though, almost similar to Vios 1.3L and City 1.3L...more gadgets, more space yun Lancer.

If you want better FC and ikaw lng pasahero...Subcompacts would be the one to go. Vios, City

If you want more space for your kabayans and can fit large luggages for outings, Lancer. Ok na ok, more comfortable seats too.

If you want better FC for your Lancer, kasi mahal gas. Do what I do.
    1. Avoid rush hours if possible.
    2. Cruise below 2k RPM
    3. When accelerating, don't go above 1.8k rpm. Ass slow though...But when it picks up speed. OK na sya. <- IF you are patient...Hehe.
    4. When cruising to a stop...go to neutral and stop gradually.
