Just wanna share an experience with my 07' Lancer 1.6 GLS.

Last week we went on a road trip to tagaytay with the family and on our way home we took the SLEX route, while on the southwoods-tunasan stretch, I wanted to test my equipment's capabilities after 3 years of use, fortunately there was a speeding fortuner to gauge against, to my surprise, my Lancer was still able to overtake the fortuner at 165kph without redlining yet and just on D shift (mind you we were 4 adults and a kid and a new-born on-board with fair amount of cargo for the kids, imagine if I was driving solo!). This made me smile and I hope it has the same effect on you guys, reminding us that we made the right choice and not only because the Lancer had the best deal during the time against the mainstream brands.

Updates nga pala regarding my power lock door (actuator) issues, weeks ago I went to Banawe in search for a surplus actuator, to my surprise, prices were quite steep P 1,500. In the end, I decided to purchase a gun-type actuator made in Taiwan and had it installed by Entoy whose shop is located at Marcos highway in between CVCC and Shell. And I tell you that the dude did a very good job! As if nothing happened, he also does power windows and a hell of a lot more (he's a problem solver of sorts and quite good at it). Thanks Entoy! Total cost was P 250 for the actuator and P 150 for the labor (P 400 vs. P 1,500 not bad at all!).

I really like the extended bumper and smoked lens (headlights and tailights) which they adopted for the '09-'10 Lancer 1.6, any idea on how much these costs?

bossings... ask ko lang. Totoo ba na lagi naka on ang rad and aux fans ng lancers cedia... as in hindi sya nag aautomatic?

ive read about this in another forum.. as in pag ingition switch mo pa lang.. nag oon na agad yung fan?

i was able to check out the lancer gls at diamond motors c5 earlier today. for those interested, they have an ongoing promo for november.

the pitch here is the supposed "freebies" (lto, ctpl, insurance, chattel etc) are costed into the financed amount. the customer is forced to take at least 3yrs financing in-house. is the promo worth it? initially, yes but total payments eventually catch up with the interest. assuming you need a car right away and don't have much cash lying around, it's a pretty good payment plan (given in-house interest rates).

of course, cash is king and it's still always best to shop around for rates and maximize the dp amount possible.

Willing ka ba mag-trade (after inspection from both sides of course)? Meron din namang back-up sensor panels yung bumper ko, yun nga lang stock black yung color ng lancer ko, baka kailanganin pa nating magpa-repaint (in-case na iba ang color ng iyo)?
