    So that is the column shifter! How silly of me not to know it.

    I don't know exactly how this "extending of gear shifting" happens but the usual remedy I have seen on jeepneys is to bend the rod.

    I think over time, the third gear will "automatically" disengage. I believe it has something to do with the "extending gear".

    unless you are a knowledgeable car owner, your better bet is probably a knowledgeable mechanic.
    i'd get a mechanic, myself...

    Nasa ilalim ng manibela.. sundan mo lang yung column shifter.. malamang may rubber bushing yan na maluwag na.. wag mo muna bend yung shifter
