KUDOS!!!... clip is from inq7.net road trip...

Here's three cheers for Mel Dizon, Froy Dytiangquin and Arlan Reyes.

To score the feat, Mitsubishi leaned on its newly introduced Adventure models.

In that period, Mitsubishi sold 1,009 units of commercial vehicles composed of Adventure, L300, Space Gear, L200 pickups, Outlander and Pajero SUVs and Canter light trucks in June for a 21.5 percent market share of the total commercial vehicle category. Campi said Toyota sold 956 units of commercial vehicles in June but led total overall sales with 2,302 units for a 30.9 percent market share due to its strong passenger car sales performance.

Mitsubishi Motors Philippines reported that sales of its commercial vehicles improved by 33 percent versus that in May. Arlan said Mitsubishi attributes this growth to the improved availability of units, especially for its newly introduced Adventure models. Also, the overall positive outlook after the national elections, which made a decision to purchase easier for buyers, contributed to the overall sales growth.

Said Dytianquin, who is now Mitsubishi Motors Philippines assistant vice president for Marketing Services: "We foresee the sales trend to improve further during second half, as market will be awakened by consumer related promos which will make vehicles more affordable, at the same time new model introductions from various assemblers which will likely happen in the second half."

Mitsubishi also reported that its passenger cars' sales, primarily composed of the new 2004 Lancers, improved by 24 percent versus its May sales. It sold a total of 143 units of passenger cars, composed of 137 new Lancers, 5 Galants and 1 Lancer Evolution model. The sales performance in June had garnered for Mitsubishi a 5.3 percent market share which is good for 3rd runner-up position next to General Motors (5.8 percent market share), Honda (21 percent market share) and Toyota (49.5 percent market share). According again to Arlan, both Toyota and Honda are dominating the passenger car segment because of the availability of small passenger cars in their Vios and City, respectively.

With Mitsubishi's total sales of 5,938, it kept its No.2 position in overall sales for the first half of 2004, representing 14.1 percent market share. Toyota Motors Philippines led the industry, with 14,595 units for a 34.7 percent market share.

that's good mitsu is doing well in the philippines, but that's not going to help much when the company is in big trouble in its 2 biggest markets: the US and japan.
