Going back to the Sudden Acceleration issue, it is mostly driver's error and not the car's fault. Itong case na ito ay isolated lamang and it does not represent the total of Monteros sold here. Kung widespread case yan (parang sa Audi 900 o Toyotas recently) Mitsubishi has a problem here.

Problem - Driver's Error - Mostly hindi sanay magmaneho ng Automatic transmission na sasakyan, galing sa manual (My dad knows how to drive automatic pero prefer niya manual), and IMPORTANTE BASAHIN ANG OWNERS MANUAL!!

Diba yan ang verdict sa investigation sa Toyota, drivers error?

And even then, the Audi case was finally resolved under investigation to be more of a matter of drivers not being accustomed to the small size and spacing of the pedals. In Toyota's case, the floor-mat issue was found to be causative of some sudden acceleration incidents, but the "expose" done by ABC news was a total farce, and they were forced to retract the piece where they claimed to have replicated an electronic short that caused sudden acceleration, though they never apologized for the dishonesty. What's even worse, ABC won an award for that piece... according to the jury that gave that award, the "message" was more important than the factuality. WTF talaga.

Hi guys, i'm a new owner of GLS V - three weeks old pa, in addition to ageing FM. Weird something happen to my rig. I was cruising and all of the sudden i heard a loud empty sound (just like when you step on the accelerator, and the vehicle is at full stop (not moving). Eventually I notice yong "D" is blinking. When I stopped, "D" is still blinking. So, tried to move from D, R, P then vice versa, then its still blinking. Then, i tried to use the manual (at full stop parin), yong gear is at "3"; supposedly this should be 1?

Then I turn-off the engine, and turn-on uli. Tapos drive and then "D" is no longer blinking. Meron bang naka experience nito?

Sir up ko lang po sa mga naka GTV and GLSV about mid issue. Yung sa akin po napalitan na ng pyese sa likod. After 5days stock up na naman reading ko sa left side. Mayroon pa po ba iba paraan para mapakinabangan to? Nakaka dismaya po

my SA advice me to reprogram the ECU so as to address the SMOKE ISSUE. I told them that my monty will go under the laptop as long as it can be return to its original performance if i am not satisfied.

After the reprogram, SMOKE ISSUE was gone but the intense acceleration i got from a VGT engine was not there anymore. I ask to reprogram it back to its original setting, they told me they don't know how and still awaiting from the Plant's instructions.

GRRRR!!!

Actually mine was great after the reprogram....
No smoke
Better smoother acceleration....
Better fuel mileage...

Maybe youve got other problems (heavon forbid of course)..

just had my 5k kms service. after ng ecu reprogram parang mas lumakas yun acceleration and nawala yun usok.
