But since GLS SE has ABS and EBD, this one is normal. It is a balance between safety and comfort.

Wiki answer.com says this::

ABS

ABS: Antilock Brake System (or Anti-locking Brake System) - enables you to steer whilst keeping the brake pedal full on. Can be felt as a vibration through the pedal when it cuts in. Also useful in stopping in a straight line if one side is on slippery stuff and the other on grippy stuff (non-ABS will tend to spin).
EBD

EBD: Electronic Brake Distribution (or Electronic Brake-force Distributor) - alters how much of the brake force goes to the front and how much to the rear. Cars always have more braking on front as if the rears lock before the front then the car will spin. How much braking you can do with the rears depends on how much weight is in the vehicle so EBD dynamically adjusts this balance. Without it, the manufacturer sets up the balance so the rears don't lock when the vehicle is empty which is less braking than is possible when the vehicle is full.

The mpony manual for GLS SE has this:
thanks sa reply and explaination sir.. hehehe

meron din sa akin yan boss.. when you sudden step sa gas pedal from 20-40kph. parang 2nd gear pa sya. nag THUG din sya. para nga hindi brand new yung car dahil sa thug sound, nakaka iritate.

This is the reason according to Service Advisor: LSD (limitted slide differential).

LSD plus ABS and EDB, naguguluhan na computer. not smooth at all.
i don't think it's the LSD. My ride is 4x2, AFAIK, wala nitong feature sa akin.

I'm just cruising a smooth pavement flat for a constant speed of 60kph with my foot on the accelerator.

di kaya sa turbo lang yan or sa catalytic converter?

ganyan din experience ko sa xtrail for more than two years na. no issue naman daw sabi ng casa and so far wala naman untoward incidents.

Pwede ba akong makisingit ng sagot being a former strada owner myself and having experience with auto trans vehicles.

Yung tikitiktik sound after turning the engine off is normal. I've observed this too with my strada before and I think it has something to do with the contraction of metal parts during cooling. We know that metal expands when exposed to heat and contracts when cold. Since the engine is composed of several metal alloys, some would contract faster than the others. So, if two different and adjacent metal alloys contract during cooling, this may cause some friction and may emit the "tik" sound. Notice that it disappears a few minutes later.

Yun namang "thug" sound during acceleration and deceleration, it could be due to "shift shock" of the automatic transmission, meaning, the gear downshifts or upshifts rather roughly. I noticed this to all my diesel A/Ts (my old frontier and my current everest) and it is observed at low gear shifting, between 1st and 2nd or between 2nd and 3rd. The higher gears would shift smoothly, though. Maybe, this could be due to the massive low rpm torque of diesels. I did not have this with my petrol cars (honda jazz and my present jimny). So sa tingin ko, normal lang ito for diesel A/Ts.

Just my 2 centavos...

i can hear that clicking sound on non-turbo cars after turning off the engine. i think it's normal. i can hear it on all our vehicles.
