Yes its normal not only for montero but also for other diesel engine.let your engine warm up first.high rev arise if ac is on.

Hi mga sirs/mams. Hingi lang po sana ako ng advise. Kakabili lang kc namin kay Monty. Ask ko lng normal ba na 9900km agad ung naka indicate sa Multi Information Display as 1st Service Reminder. Npansin lang namin na may mga hairline scratches sa body, sa roof nman may scratches din na mahahaba and medyo malalim din, sa interior meron din onte. May mga ibang pics pa ng scratches. Salamat po sa mga tutugon. God bless.

Hi sir, no yung suggested Service Reminder nya agad is 9900 km 6 months considering na brandnew palang ang unit. I can post pics pati ng mga scratches ng unit sa exterior, interior and sa roof. Newbie lang po kc ako sa forum, paano po mag post ng pics ? 😊 thank you

Thats pms reminder with wrench logo. Ok lang yan. When your odo reach 1k km. Send back to casa for pms.(change oil and oil filter etc.). Hairline di maiwasan yan minsan. Sana before release nacheck mo agad para nakanote sa checklist in case you want to claim for it.

Family owns a 2011 Monty AT 4x2.

I recently drove it and smelled exhaust fumes being drawn into the cabin from the AC even if it is in recirculation mode. I thought I was just grabbing something from a nearby truck when it first occured but everytime I was parked/idling and no other cars were near me, the smell came back.

Brought it to a trusted shop that works on our out of warranty cars to ask if they can check and they told me that there are seals near the blower (located somewhere near the perforated cover below the wipers behind the glove box supposedly) that tends to crack and fail over the years which ends up sucking in fumes. The simple fix they do is cut a piece of rubber and rugby it around the said "hole" to reseal it. Per their information to me they would need to bring down the evaporator unit to reach the part of the blower that needs to be resealed.

I havent had the job done yet and postponed it for later in the week as family needs the car for coding mid week.

Will post an update should I be able to drive it after the fix is done.

Has anyone else encountered something similar? I am curious.

were they talking about the cabin filter - or lack thereof?

well, the 2nd gen doesn't come equipped w/ a cabin filter fresh from the casa. maybe yours have yet to be fitted w/ one. if that's the case, installation is pretty much straight forward.

Pwede kabitan boss. I have mine installed with nakamichi headrest monitor and working very well indeed.
