sir mcclement thank you so much sa info. medyo confused pa ako kasi first time ko gagawin. pero try ko pag-aralan. kasi may dalwang thick wire nakasa suksok dun sa may engine near the injectors. so kailangan palang tanggalin yung cover nung mga cylinders ba para makita yung glow plug? ito yung cover kung saan located ang oil cap di ba?

March 28th, 2007 12:40 AM #22I think you're referring to the valve cover sir yung may oil cap. Di na tatanggalin yun sir.
Check out this link sir:

Meron ako nilagay na 4 red dots dyan. Yan sir ang glow plugs ng MMC 4D56 (4D55), just beside the valve cover and the injectors. The 4 glow plugs are connected in series by a thin aluminum flat bar that serves as its wire. Aside from that meron pa pong nakadugtong na thick wire dyan (maaring yun po ang nakita nyo) para mag-supply ng electricity sa glow plugs. Gamitan nyo nalang cguro ng sockets (size 8 for the nuts holding the wire/s and 10 for the glow plug itself, not sure dun sa socket size pro paki-check nalang) with socket extension para madali nyo matanggal. Disconnect the battery nalang po before removing the glow plugs kc yung thin aluminum flat bar po that connects to all glow plugs is a postive wire so anything metal that touches it and at the same time touching any other metal part of the engine will short and blow your fuse/relay with the ignition turned on.

I do DIY lang kapag may problema ako sa hard starting. 02 model advie ko and so far ang problem nya kapag ganuon, its either low bat or busted glow plugs. Replace ko lang 4 glow plug then back to normal na ulit
that may be, but we all got plastic, young and old. we asked the lto guy, "papel ba po, o...
