    Hello mga sirs.

I know that this problem was encountered a lot of times here in this forum. I have a 94 Lancer Glxi at hindi ako marunong sa mga mechanical terms or kung ano dapat gawin pag may sira ang auto. Pero I do a lot of research naman para kahit papano may idea ako.

Okay here's the problem.

    1. An engine that runs quite roughly (lalo na pagstart palang ng auto, parang palyado yung tunog)
    3. Air bubbles leaving the radiator when the cap is off and the engine is running.
    4. Major coolant loss (ubos lagi yung reserve kaya lagi kong nilalagyan)
    5. Loss of engine power (hindi naman lagi)

Signs right there. I always see people using only water and often topping it off. Its just a ticking time bomb at that point.

So tama nga sir, blown head gasket nga. How much would it cost to replace and repair my blown head gasket?

A compression test (wet and dry) should also help to determine what exactly is the problem.

If you need to do an overhaul, better to buy the parts on your own in Banawe (Best Colt is a good shop for Mitsu parts). Just pay the mechanic for the labor and the machine shop for any required machine work.

Get also a second opinion with another shop.

basta ang tubig sa radiator upon normal operation ay bumubulwak at nag bubbles, sigurado the ehad gasket is already compromised, it could still sound and run fine but sooner or later it will bring more harm to the engine.. the head gasket if compromised will surely exchange the air in the combustion chamber to the water jackets of the engine block... if you really want to be scientific about it, you can have a "compression testing"...

Thanks for this info. I'll definitely get a second opinion. Mag papa compression and leak down test narin ako. Sana hindi pa malala.
