all shock absorbers are hydraulic(fluid) dampened. the term gas charged versus regular hydraulic stemmed from trying to correct the problem of shock absorber "fade". when the fluid had been overworked, the oil inside thins out and lowers the effect of the shock absorbers on the suspension, with compressed nitrogen, the boiling point of the oil is raised and of course reduced the shock absorber "fade". gas charged is by far the better option save for the minor difference in price

Definitely gas-charged is better. Will maintain comfort for longer on long drives...
