April 30th, 2004 11:46 AM #181thanks KCboy, at least may kasama ako
whew
yup, i love the acceleration on my pajero pero bitin ako s top speed kasi ayaw ko mag cruise at over 3000 rpm. nasa gearing na ang problema. i already broached the subject on this site about changing the gears of the pajero, problema, it will cost over 20 grand each (dalawa kailangan, front and rear). so for 40 to 50 grand, di nalang siguro. mags and tires na lang

STEP 1) Secure Materials
Vanilla Coke (can) was used as a repository of excess P.S. fluid and not required  The short bolt by its lonesome is the OEM Grade 7 bolt. The longer (but weaker) Grade 5s on the right.
Step 2) Locate Target
One bolt already removed...
STEP 3) Remove Bolts
Step 4) Pull the can a little in the direction of the fender to locate the holes in the intake manifold
Step 5)
Remove the small pressure hose to make washer installation easier
Place the washers on top of the holes. in the pic are a stack of 3.
REassembly is the tricky part coz the washers may fall off if not careful. To finish the process, do the reverse. The whole mod takes no more that 15 minutes.
My brother is interested in doing this to his strada.
Thanks

May 8th, 2004 09:36 AM #183i think there are pics of this in the galleries here. i'm just not sure.
this is a quick mod to do. i had two mechanics do it for me, it took them 3 minutes to do, that included a minute to go find the mighty bond (hehehehehe)

May 11th, 2004 10:35 AM #187the boost guage does not add to the perfromance of the vehicle. it is a safety mechanism so that you can monitor the amount of boost that you are feeding your engine.
usually the best combination is a boost guage with a manual boost controller. with this, you can increase your boost and monitor it on your guage so that you do not overboost.
ako naman, i didn't want to spend money on a guage, so i just borrowed my friends guage and mounted it temporarily.
then i tested my pajero with no washers, then with 3 washers then with 4 washers. with 4 washers, nasa 13 psi ang max reading ko. this was an increase of about 2 psi from stock.

May 11th, 2004 12:49 PM #189take a look at the link above pare. better if you have someone to help you kasi you have to lift the can up and then slip the washers under the support of the can.

bumping up the topic, i also tried this, how many psi ba if stock sa 4m40? kasi i added 2 washers, i was boosting 11psi according to the boost gauge, and when i added another one, 12psi na, so i guess we can assume that the stock was 9psi, pero not sure.
anyway, ano maximum boost kaya ng 4m40? some say kaya ng 15psi. :D
some sources din say na if i try to boost more using the stock turbo (TD-04 9G), hirap na rin ang turbo, so am also exploring the angle of upgrading to a TD-04 16G, or TD-05.
