The Trooper has been bumped off by the Alterra... but while it was here, it did receive refreshes every now and then.
Mitsubishi introduced the Montero as a new model, but with looks dating back at least ten years... just like the Chevrolet Lumina (LUMA-NA?!? - that still cracks me up!), it doesn't convince many people.
And those looks don't lie... it is a very old vehicle. Okay if you're into classic Japanese SUVs (trucklike ride, handling... well, everything), but there are many more modern and refined vehicles for the money.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

It's like buying a brand new classic vehicle. I wish they still sold brand new Patrol GQ's (Y60).
Oh yeah, they still do. But only in China...
Old does not necessarily equate to bad.

I own a Fortuner... But, I think the Montero looks great. Lalo pag all black tapos naka-chrome mags... Ang pogi ng dating! Yung nga lang, for the price, dapat newer technology engine na s'ya and may 3rd row or at least jump seats man lang s'ya...

In terms of design like exterior styling and interior ergonomics, its dated. In terms of capability and reliability, its proven - its been in production for so many years. It has had alot of experience off road and on road that it is almost problem free - no bugs or glitches because they've probably surfaced(and have been fixed) so many years back during its first few years. Para sa akin eto ang maganda sa models tulad ng montero, although magatal na sya in production, age has refined its reliability. Unlike new models, with so many features that some may have a recall because of a glitch in the car's computer or some malfunction on a "technologically new mechanical part" or something that requires replacement
