March 17th, 2010 12:22 PM #12Hi,
I have studied a little bit of aircon myself. Based on my studies. It is true that you need to maintain the aircon properly. CASA is usually more expensive as always. But the real price of the Receiver Dryer and Expansion valve should be below 2K pesos each. These two items are commonly replaced. If the car aircon is maintained properly then it is rare to find anything wrong with your Evaporator, compressor and condenser.

Nung pinalitan yung drier at expansion valve, good as new na ulit. Total damage that time was around P6.5k.

Same problem with our CR-V 98. I had them blocked entirely the airway. Then, this Aircon guy suggested that he will assemble an air filter, a metal frame where I can use stockings.
I think old models doesn't have this cabin filter or only the super duper luxury old cars only.

I had the exact same problem w/ my civic ek a few years back. The solution of the a/c techs of ceejay's a/c shop was to cover the vent w/ a wad of new foam w/c allows outside air to enter the vehicle when the recirculate button is deactivated.
