    Guys,

Have you tried raising the boost to 20-30 pounds in a 4D56 SOHC, mechanical injection ? Does it create more smoke since more fuel will be needed ?

    Thanks.

First of all that is past your turbos ability, You can run up to around 13psi on those safely without running into dangerously high exhaust gas temps which will blow your head gasket. Water injection gives these around 17hp more over stock. And you can safely turn up the boost and the vehicle will no longer smoke.

i believe the maximum boost pressure for the 4d56 is between 13 to 15psi, anything over that, you risk blowing up something already. it is best to get a manual boost controller to ensure that you don't go over the limit. but you could also do the open manifold modification to add some boost for the turbo.try back reading in this thread and i am sure you will see hot it is done. hope this helps.
