March 29th, 2012 05:12 AM #2603Question po sa mga GLX-MT owners, what RPM po kayo nagpapalit to the higher gear? When I try to shift at 2k RPM parang kulang, seems like I need to shift to the next gear at 2100 to 2200 rpm or else garalgal yung makina. Is there something wrong with our Strada?

March 29th, 2012 05:57 AM #2604I think the gear shifting depends on the acceleration of the car, the load and engine RPM. Don't rely fully on the RPM. If you travel light, you can usually change gear at lower RPM but if you have lots of load or going uphill, you will change gear on a little bit higher RPM. Observe the engine and from there decide if it's time to upshift or downshift. You don't actually need to look at your rpm...
If you want more power on your driving you usually shift at a higher RPM. This is equivalent to how "Sports Mode" works on other vehicles. You maximize your power band before shifting. This also gives you better acceleration overall.
However, if you want to save on gas, you shift at lower RPM.
Going back to your question, 2100 - 2200 rpm is just fine. Diesel is good in power not acceleration. So to get better acceleration, you need more RPM. And I find my GLX just fine.
Sorry for long response. Just thought that it might help. Otherwise, feel free to disregard.

March 30th, 2012 01:59 AM #2606Maraming possible causes sir eh. Most common yong fuel intake system, pede SCV, EGR, etc.
Since 2010 lang yan, I suggest dalahin mo sa casa. Let them check for the actual error code.
It should be covered by the warranty. And you should not pay for the check-up and even part replacement or cleaning.
Because in the first place hindi mo naman binili yong auto na me check engine. So it shouldn't be there by design.
If I am you, that's what I will do.
