July 14th, 2011 03:26 AM #1948OT... any feedbacks on the cooper tires A/T and STT? Gusto ko sana yun STT tapang tingnan kaso I'm worried kasi I will be driving mostly on road. Will the difference in the STT and AT be noticeable for the driver?
Salamat :D

stt ba yung equivalent ng mud tires? if yes, very noticeable ang vibrations and tire noise, tapos medyo hahaba ang braking distance mo. acceleration and top speed will be lesser din. and according to arvin, mas mabilis mapudpod kung mostly highway ang takbo mo. pero other than that astig naman ang looks ng gulong mo hehehe

yup, STT is actually the m/t of cooper. Basta ang rule of thumb pag sa gulong is if you will be doing mostly paved roads, stick to h/t, 60/40 paved/gutted may h/t na kaya pa eto. 50/50 get a/t. 40/60 - may a/t series na kaya pa eto. any other ratio get m/t.
reason for this is that the more tire contact you have with the ground the more control you get, more grip on the road and breaking efficiency and better fuel economy because of less air drag due to the bigger lug spacing. Tire life gets shorter when tire lug spacing gets bigger, kasi mas kumokonti ang goma na may contact sa kalsada.
