Saw Mitsu's ad in today's PhilStar. The Outlander is now available with the 2.4li MIVEC engine. It does not indicate the prices though.

hi guys. relatively new here. need some help deciding. i am a current owner of the 1st gen CRV 1997 and i need a replacement very soon. basically, i'm torn between getting a CRV or an Outlander.
CRV 2.4 pros
-dependable after sales and parts
-honda reliability
-better interiors / quality
CRV 2.4 cons
-ugly exterior
-long waiting list
-engine nothing great - i hear the CRV is slow
-everyone has one
Outlander 3.0 pros
-better engine
-better exterior styling
-not a lot of people have it
Outlander 3.0 cons
-will it be as reliable as the CRV?
-questionable mitsubishi after-sales service
-availability of parts
any help from your end? please...

September 26th, 2007 05:19 PM #635i test drived both cars before i purchases the outlander, unfortunately yung 2.0 na manual crv yung na test drive ko.. so this is based on that... kung 2.4 na crv siguro you can ask 2nd gen owners since the engine is the same...
anyways i live in baguio dinala namin both cars sa marcos high way dun mo lang kasi ma test ng maiigi mga kotse saka pataas, pababa tapos patag din.
the crv 2.0 ndi po maka akyat... there were 4 passengers in the car that includes me as the driver na... todo apak ko na sa gas bagal umakyat talaga... (tapos taas pa ng clutch) dunno if it was me as the driver pero hirap talaga cya umakyat.
yung outlander grabe naman umakyat! as in WoW!!! you will really feel the power of the engine.. tried it sa skyway also! bilis bilis.... kaw matatakot sa sobrang bilis... hehe
as for your cons... i had a pajero before.. reliable naman cya... never let me down.. parts and service are readily available din... i had my 1000 km PMS check available naman lahat ng filters and oil... baguio pa ako ha.. eh di mas marami pang parts dyan manila..
i hope nakatulong po...

Sir Megatron,
Matipid si Outie sa highway. Pero makaka 5 km/l ka kung very heavy traffic. Pero kung normal city drive nasa 6-7 km/l. Once in the highway, nasa 12 km/l na.
Mitsubishi is known to build good SUV's and pick-ups. Im pretty sure it wont let you down.iam3739.com

got mine last Mar 07 and nakaka almost 11,000 miles na ako.... (i use it 3-4 times a week and my commute is about 100 miles per day - highway with lots of traffic) and so far 0 problems..... and compared to my VW Passat mas mura ang service maint ng mitsu .... fuel consumption ko combined city/hway is 23-24mpg

Please help. We are considering getting an outlander instead of crv. But my wife want a color black. We visit Misubishi in las pinas and they said no available black color for 2.4l. white and silver lang daw. Napadaan kami sa MOA and theres a mitsubishi dealer there and they said meron black but need to reserve. Is there anybody here can confirm that there is a BLACK color outlander in 2.4l model. (kasi pag wala black, my wife will ask me to get the crv. :-( .. please advice.

meron yan black, baka nagkataon naubusan lang. AFAIK everymonth may dumadating na new batch outlander, konting antay ka nalang.
IMO lang iwas sa black color unless experience ka na magmaintain, grabe kasi ang required maintenance ng black to keep its shine. pag silver or white kunin mo guaranteed kahit papunas punas lang di halata ang mga scratches sa paint.
dati crv din nasa list ko pero sobrang angas ng mga sales execs ng honda, parang pinapalabas kahit di ka bumili dami naman nakapili to take your place, amp na mayayabang.
came from a 2k gen1 crv too.
