November 4th, 2008 10:38 AM #1811Pare, my friend does detailing and auto paint protection. Sa kanya ako for 5 years na. Meguiars products gamit nya. Kaya yan ng 3 step, tangal swirl marks mo. Yung ford escape ko nabenta pa ng maganda dahil ayos ang paint job. 3 times ko nga lang napagawa sa kanya instead of 5 (1 per year) but it really made the paint last even after 80,000 km! PM me if interested.

According to this the Outie is the 3rd worst in terms of fuel economy...
The ‘midnight econo-run’
The results were surprising since I regularly commute from Makati to Cavite in the early morning and easily hit 13kms/l with traffic and stops. Though I dont put the thermostat on its highest settings.
Hope they publish the results with all the vehicles that participated so I can weed out the diesels.

> Very light-footed driving...e.g. hitting 80km/h and keeping it at around 1600rpm.
> I also overinflated my tires slightly
> no hard braking...when I see a red light, I coast to the stop. I also dont use my brakes when cornering
> I accelerate before I climb a flyover or the parking ramp
> almost never use the paddle shifters when I'm on an eco run
> when I know I'll be stuck for more than 5 minutes at an intersection, I turn the engine off.
> thermostat setting at 25 (halfway)
> I took a ride in one of the shuttles going to Makati and I got to know some of their shortcuts
> and finally, I leave home 30mins earlier then most...and leave the office 30 mins later...
btw, I only have the 2wd model...

November 7th, 2008 08:14 AM #1819My best FC so far is 13km/l from Manila to Batangas and going back. My average is 11.5-12km/l when taking this route. I have the 2.4 4x2 model.
Daily average FC (Bicutan-Makati and back):
6-8km/l (stop and go, slow moving traffic along SLEX)
9-10km/l (if I leave the house early and leave the office late or I use the Skyway)
Same driving habit as redshift. I also shift to neutral when on red light.

guys!
how much is the outlander 4 x 2 now less discounts?
comparing with the 2.4l 4x4, so far i accted these diff :
1. 4 speaker vs 6.1 speaker
2. halogen vs HID
3. no rear retractable cover for 4x2
4. no back up sensor
5. no back seat retracting latch at the back
what else?
alas! for obvious reasons, they are sometimes the last available slots...
