Hi to All Outlander owners,
I know most of you guys drive tested some of the CUVs availalble in our market (CRV,RAV-4 etc.) and decided to get the Outlander instead.
My question is, I'm about to buy a new CUV, is the Oulander really dominates the new CRV? I'm only comparing CRV 2.0 AT and 2.4 AT for the outlander.
Before my first option is CRV, but now I'm thinking about the Outie.
Hope you can help me decide.
Thanks guys in advance....

it really depends on your taste.
siempre kung dito ka magtatanong, ang re-recomend sayo ay outie.
for us, we think that the outie is a more passion-oriented ride.
honda's quality is unbeatable. that is well accepted.
you have to set your priorities for yourself, mind vs. heart.
good luck and do let us know if you decide on getting an Outie

August 23rd, 2008 07:11 AM #1594depends on what you mean by dominates. in terms of speed, yes. i suggest you read the thread on crv to help you out in making your decision. there are more crv on the road as against outlander. define your needs and what you want in a cuv, then go for it.
outlander may not be as popular as the other cuv, but it is a good buy in terms of its specifications.

I dont think a certain vehicle of the same class can dominate over another, with that said, it all depends on what the buyer really wants. there are also a lot of factors to consider in choosing a vehicle, do you want more space, more features, do you want a 4X4 or 4X2, would it fit a lot of your stuff on out of town trips or when you go grocery shopping? For me I chose the outlander beacuase of its handsome looks & spacious interior. I think it has the best value for your money in the CUV category.

hello ec4u2c,
firstly, welcome to the thread.
I have no complaints about the CR-V. i am aware of the new (internal and external) design it has that makes it totally different from the 2 previous generations. To this date, i admit that this department may take a little more time for me to get used to. Mechanichally speaking, both CUVs are good enough- even on fit and finish.
But what sets the Outlander apart from the competition is the Fun-To-Drive factor. The design is more radical and it shows that Mitsubishi did think out of the box this time- a far cry from the 1st gen outie. Also, you can't get paddle shifters on a basic model of the CR-V! its something that you get to enjoy without clamoring for the "top-of-the-line". The 2.4 MIVEC engine may be bigger than the CR-V 2.0 but no one is really complaining about the FC- Its just right for its size.
if your heart is looking for something great and out of the norm at the same time practial and easy to use, this is it because you are hitting 2 birds with 1 stone. thank you.

Guys, I noticed that there were two small hooks mounted to the floor at the foot of the driver seat. I couldnt find anything in the manual about them...what could they be there for?

Test driven both.
Outlander is more fun. The 2.4L engine (with its extra 400cc) feels livelier compared to the 2.0 i-VTEC from Honda which is slow when accelerating from 60 kilometers/hour plus. The CR-V on the other hand gets the comfort points. It is way better than the Outlander.
Both cars aren't bad. Choose whatever you think is more for you.iam3739.com
