The old CVT, AFAIK, wasn't built to handle the torque loads generated by 2 liter engines. Just as with the Jazz/City CVT (which is why there are no CVT Civics here...)

May 2nd, 2008 04:24 PM #7Its the 2006-2007 Lancer 2.0 GT that had a 4-speed A/T(INVECS-II), looks like the old CVT and the more powerful 4G63 2.0 liter engine wasn't a perfect match. <- by AG4
I think the 4 speed A/T (INVECS-II) is not CVT. Rather, its the normal run of the mill automatic.
