wouldnt you think that the US can make any country their enemy? After all, you believe on the conspiracy theory of WAR for OIL. Why not stretch it a little bit and believe that US can make any country their enemy, friendly or not. Why not declare that CANADA and MEXICO have the WMD :evillaugh Tapos saka nila hamunin ng gera para makuha lang ang OIL nila. Remember, Iraq used to be the US' friend. And so does Afghanistan's Bin Laden.

ano naman ang opinyon mo sa pagbaba ng oil imports from Iraq even before the 9/11 war? At hindi na tumaas pa ang oil imports from them as of now?

2007 Honda Fit Hybrid will be introduced in the US market which is only $1,700 more than the gas version. To date, it would be the cheapest Hybrid ever offered to the public. 80mpg

Japan's third-biggest car maker aims to sell the Fit hybrid as early as next year for about $11,800, or $1,700 more than the gasoline-only version, likely making it the world's least expensive hybrid by far, leading Japanese business daily Nihon Keizai said Wednesday.
Ayan, medyo may sagot na tayo sa oil dependency

If u were the US, would u want more enemies? why create enemies out of friends?

the war for oil is not a conspiracy theory.

Reptilian aliens controlling the world is.

Many people still think america went into iraq coz america wants to save the iraqis from a cruel dictator. thats SPIN. thats public relations. and many people swallowed it hook, line, and sinker.

Countries go to war for all sorts of reasons. War is reality. War is human nature. Killing is human nature.

Thats why there are terms like GENOCIDE, ETHNIC CLEANSING, HOLOCAUST...

Israel is on constant state close to war coz its neighbors simply hate them. HATE. not oil, not gold... simply HATE.

In our own backyard, we have the NPA, MNLF, MILF, Abu Sayyaf... what do they want? money? land? or that crap called independence? whatever i dont care. the reality is, people will never stop fighting with each other for whatever reason. it could be for what u have that they want, it could be that they just simply hate ur face.

America has a WAY OF LIFE it has to maintain. The AMERICAN WAY OF LIFE costs the american taxpayers a lot of money to maintain.

Americans have to maintain a top grade military to keep them safe from those who hate them. So they can live life the way they do. They call it the COST OF FREEDOM.

The american economy runs on foreign oil. it has to keep on going. The american govt has a duty to keep things going no matter what. even if they have to go to war. If the american govt doesnt do its duty, and a projected worse case scenario happens, it would be catastrophic. Iraq may not provide them much oil now. But its nice to know its there when they need it.

Tama naman. The "War for Oil" by the US isn't conspiracy theory. It's just one facet of the Iraq picture.

As to whether or not Clinton was incompetent regarding foreign policy in terms of NoKor and Iraq, let me point out that George Bush Senior did not continue his war campaign into Iraq to crush Saddam (when he should have) and left behind guerilla fighters that he promised support to, guerillas who were slaughtered as support from the US evaporated (one of Saddam Hussein's greatest war-crimes... a near genocide of his opponents). Under GWB, the NoKor situation has been fluctuating. There were times that inconsistencies by the US in the six-nation talks with NoKor caused some setbacks in the talks.

Iraq is a major player on the geopolitical stage. Saddam Hussein (funded by the US Government in their belief that he'd take his war to Ayatollah Khomenei) isn't really loved by anyone outside his country. Why do you think he was so easy to capture? He's a major destabilizing influence in the Middle East, but unlike the US would like you to believe, he isn't on a first name basis with Osama... in fact, Osama hates his damn guts.

The US managed to gain political capital from its successful invasion of Afghanistan, and they wanted to keep that ball rolling. They started looking into Iraq's military, and figured to push the WMD button. They grilled the UN with regards to Iraq's compliance with weapons inspectors (which, actually, was a real issue) and then refused to accept the word of weapons inspectors regarding the state of Iraqs WMD programs after they were given full access.

The US went to war with Iraq with the stated reason being that Iraq was harboring WMDs, against UN sanctions. The UN tried to prevent it, but ultimately caved in to US pressure, as the US was set to go to war with or without approval anyway. The UN couldn't very well say that they had no teeth and couldn't stop a card-carrying member from persecuting an illegal war, now, could they?

The plan was always for a quick war. I'm really surprised the guerilla action caught the US off-guard. Think about it. If you're about to be attacked by an enemy you know you can't defeat on the battlefield, what do you do? Pull back. Hide. Snipe at him, ambush him, kill him when he's not looking. Good tactics all, and that's what Saddam did.

Now, years later, we still haven't found any sign of recent WMD developments or stockpiles. US politicians want to pull out of Iraq. Iraqi democracy is a squabbling fight between three major political divisions who want the country to themselves. The Iraqi security forces are afraid to go out in the streets. Most police only show up to cash their paycheck. There are still a lot of Saddam's soldiers hiding out, bombing US soldiers, laying traps, mines, ambushes. And Al-Quaeda has set up shop in Iraq, making things even more miserable for everyone.

Iraq wasn't a war for freedom. It was a political war. For oil, for influence, to promulgate American interests in the Middle East. It's sad, though... if it were really a war for freedom, the US would be putting more money and soldiers into it, to win it decisively. But except for Bush, most Republicans want to cut their losses and protect their image to voters and are calling for a pull-out. Sad, really.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

*niky, ah ok. I always thought that US Presidents like to go to war to send their citizen troublemakers/warriors to warzones and to expand their worlwide presence in the process , it's like hitting 2 birds in one stone.

unlike here in the Phils, a lot of our young military men are itching to go to war. they feel that local insurgents are not too challenging enough so they make war against the incumbents. hehehe

The plan was always for a quick war.
I assumed the same thing. But never did the current US administration said anything about a "quick war." It was only the speculations made by pro and anti-war.

"para maitago ko ang alleged WMD, I'll let the UN declare a couple of resolutions"

Specifically, Saddam Hussein was required to, among other things: allow international weapons inspectors to oversee the destruction of his weapons of mass destruction; not develop new weapons of mass destruction; destroy all of his ballistic missiles with a range greater than 150 kilometers; stop support for terrorism and prevent terrorist organizations from operating within Iraq; help account for missing Kuwaitis and other individuals; return stolen Kuwaiti property and bear financial liability for damage from the Gulf War; and he was required to end his repression of the Iraqi people.

After all, mas safe sya sa kamay ng US kaysa mga kapwa nya mid-easterns...hehehe.
