    i also read somewhere na ang talagang naunang mga screws ay flat lang... then lagi daw nade-deform yung screw everytime luluwagan lalo na pag masikip yung pagkakabaon, then somebody came up or invented the cross type screw thinking that it would be better than the flat type...

    I do know why McDonald's Happy Meal toys come with those proprietary "triangular" screws...

    It's so that people cannot tinker with them and cause choking hazards.

    I have yet to see screwdrivers with tips like those.

    McDo avoiding legal issues. People in the US just loves suing major companies over the most stupid things and many times, the court lets them win.

    Same here, I have seen a variation of the philips screws with 3 or 5 points instead of the normal 4 point cross used on some old mainframe computer equipment.
