i didnt say anything about only people with no money not being able to vote wisely. what im saying is that if you're not paying to keep the government working you shouldnt have a say in how its run. if you're paying your taxes, whether other people think you're deciding wisely or not, it's your right, since you paid for that right and kept the government running with your tax money.

Bwahahaha... late response...
Ideally, yes, I agree. But then, like I've said here or elsewhere, that'd be "anti-poor", and political suicide for anyone who says that out in public.
My point is: Even those paying for government service sometimes (well, most of the time) don't give a damn what's going on as long as they have lights, water and a place to live. My opinion is that all people who want to have a say in who sits where should render service to the government (service for service) in order to see firsthand what goes on, instead of relying on the shiny happy faces on the TV telling them "we're your friends, we're upright guys... vote for us!"
Even more ideally, it'd be like schools. If you don't agree with the school's laws or policies, then you could change schools. Of course, since you need the government's cooperation to change countries... oops. As a side note, one of the most bizarre and idiotic ideas of government is to give the student council a right to sit on boards at their scholastic institutions...Last edited by niky; December 17th, 2006 at 02:47 PM.

December 17th, 2006 08:23 PM #55why? because majority of the population like it...the philippines deserves to lag behind with its current state (meaning...considering everything)...put it this way...why are those neighboring countries are overtaking the philippines...because majority of their population 'WORK' HARDER for the common good of their country. who among us filipinos who can honestly say we are working not just for ourselves or family but also for our country?

Last edited by jonski; December 18th, 2006 at 01:15 AM.
